For what it's worth, I wish I would have gotten a convertable. I lived in Key West when I bought my coupe, and have since moved to Louisville, but the convertable would have been great in Key West. But, it's like they always say, "The grass is greener on the other side".

I think the roofline of the hardtop makes the vehicle. The convertible just doesn't have the look. also the convertible is heavier and a little slower. Chak up one vote for the hardtop. Goodluck with whatever you decide.

Yeah ive been killing myself over this choice. On one hand w/ the Hard Top I can add stripes (they look gay on a vert), its faster, i can add the window Louvres (they look so sweet).

With the Vert...well like I said im in Sunny San Diego....

AHHHHHH...im too damn indecisive.

I definately reccomend hard top. It's just better and you don't have a roll bar with the vert (unless you buy one after market). Also it's alot cheaper to get the hardtop and put some stripes on that beast, some louvers and damn son that will be one tight ride. Tally another vote for the Hard top.

i'll add my vote for the hard top also. pretty much all vert's will start to leak eventually and the body is always stiffer with the coupe. you have to do quite a bit for a vert to have the stiffness it would need to add a lot of power. a true mustang guy will not be to far into his ownership before the modding begins.

another vote here for the hardtop. I never owned a vert, but have some friends that did. All complained of eventual leaks and excessive noise, but they are fun.

it really depends on what you want to do with the car.
if you want a nice quick car that turns like ass and flexes more a than
14 year old in the mirror... get the vert.

the coups have better suspension and are better for peformance imo.

oh and fwi.... a sunroof is always an option

66-98 hardtop

99-04 vert

05+ hardtop ( vert 05+ has rustproblems on quarterpanel and model looks gay as it is, vert makes it look beyond gay unless you drop it and put on a different bumper then you hget a hot car, but heavier and still left with a possible rust problem.

so id say screw it all get a roush or get the bolt ons.

Danish , If you think the 05+ looks gay there is something wrong with your tastebuds guy! The 05+ are the best looking stangs that have come along since 69-70s

Stock 05 visual uncool

05 roush or atleast modded out visually makes 05+ pretty damn hot,

bonestock is just too ugly

I kinda like the lines of the hard top. To me, it looks more aggresive.

Thanks for the rephrase Danish I guess we all have opinions and mine just differs from yours in this particular case. I remember how excited I was when they released the 05 model, I knew I was gonna get one again. As fate would have it my 79 corvette caught on fire and wasn't repairable so I ordered my mustang and am much happier these days.
My past mustangs were a 69 mach1 and a 71 mach1 can't believe I sold either of them.

79 vette was the first muscle car i drove. it was un explainable how awesome it was.

and even more sick after i tried a drag in swedens fastest street car ( 88 camaro )

was like back in the early 90's.

my first stang was 1979 the official pace car original decals whole deal ( added crome sidepipes too it though hehe )

9000 usd yearrly in insurance ( lol ) cause i was under 25 back then insurance for a car like that was assrape.

i sold it after i lost my job had it only for a a few weeks.

What a question....

Any answer will be accepted by some and rejected by others!!
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
I've driven nothing but convertibles since 90.
If the weather's bad....I jump into my wife's Dodge Charger....yep....it's a hemi.

GTNorm's Mustang is way cool.

Me, I can't decide if I like the verts or the coupes better.

Oh wait, I own a vert. Well I got the vert to offset the lose of my Harley-Davidson Electra-Glide Classic motorcycle, I'd owned for 7 years. (Sidenote: that's the longest I'd ever own any vehicle in my 30+ years of driving. Set a record with that one.)

So having the open air characteristic of a vert, softened the blow if losing the motorcycle. Other than that, I probably would have purchased a coupe.

Hard top all the way. For me it was for looks and for quickness. The hard top has that and more. The price is way better than the vert too. My vote is for hard top on the 05-present
