Pony Package - gloss black instead of chrome

I have a Black 06 mustang V6 with the pony package and was wondering if anyone had seen or attempted to paint over the chrome on the grille with a gloss black finish or anything similar? i thought it would look pretty good but want to get some feedback before i try it. thanks

i have 05 with partial pony package.

i dont know about the gloss black. i think the chrome gives it a great accent.

if you want to paint over it be careful you dont want it to start flaking during hot days and the AC blowing at about 35 degrees.

Post up some pics & have someone photo shop it gloss black & you will know.

Thanks for the response, I like the look of the grille as it is but have never really liked chrome. I'm looking for a more subtle accent without losing the pony package appearance. Plus with my mustang being black already I was thinking the black grille would differentiate mine somewhat while still looking good

Me and my dad rebuilt it about 2 years ago and I will be inheriting it when i graduate in 2 months

Picture is not of my mustang, but this is one similar

Self etching primer, then sandable primer, then sand with 800 grit. Then paint, clear, sand with 1200 grit, then clear. Then sand with 2000 grit them buff to perfect shine

Thanks for the help guys i didn't think i would get such fast feedback.

have anyone seen anything like this done? do you think it would look good?

also autobadges.com might be a place to start as well

full leather, premium spoiler, shaker 1000, full black dash with chrome bezels.

oh when i think of pony package .. first thing that runs through is grille.

btw when i tinted my foglights the damn tints were getting messed up

well when i had my foglights tinted the tint was getting burned cause of the hids..
