Single V6 Exhaust muffler, what to get..

Hi,

What is the best single exhaust muffler and HP gain?

Also the trade off of a louder exhaust muffler vs a mid range.

Thanks!

May I ask why you want to keep the single exhaust?

Single exhaust,; To the cost low. I'm open to the idea of dual.

Vortech, what is your BHP and Torque?

i think i paid around 400 for my dual, i got my gt mufflers from ebay and then just went to muffler masters and gt it done. I plan to add headers and a throttle body next.

Thanks emptysidewarrior btw since you went supercharged what is your miles per gallon before and after?

I'm keeping my options open, so I still like to know what is the best single exhaust muffler and HP gain?
Also the trade off of a louder exhaust muffler vs a mid range.

Cheers!

Single exhaust FTL! Go dual. You'll regret it if you dont. I bought my flowmaster A/T's online for about $350 and got an intsall for $250. Ran me all together about $600. The flows are a little cheaper now I believe so you could probably get by with $400.

So are flowmaster A/T's the best for duel and single? I'll consider duel, I just need to find a shop that is reasonable and good. Btw, what is the HP gain w/ duels?

Cheers!

honestly these minor bolt-ons should not be done for HP on our v6's ... they will add up later on but for now it wont be much.. flowmasters are relatively cheap and sound great thus everyone on here loves them and didnt pay to much for them... go with duals trust me..

Your really not going to see any noticeable gains with exhaust. In my opinion dual exhaust is the only way to go. I think a mustang is meant to have duals and would save up to get it.

But if your set on going single you might want to check magnaflow. A buddy of mine has a magnaflow muffler on his grand am and it's sounds pretty good.

Hi all,

If I go duel will there be any drop in power at low RPM while a slight increase of power at high RPM?

Cheers!

lol... first we've told you quite a bit of times that exhaust really wont change that much in power. as long as you keep your cat's your backpressure will be fine and you wont lose any low end torque..

Yeah your really not going to notice a difference in power with exhaust reguardless if you go single or dual. It's mainly for sound and looks. If you want more power then get gears and a t-lok
