this is just where it gets into personal preference. i get woodies over KB'd 4vs. the whine is so ungodly i just kind of freeze up when i hear one. if there was a KB'd cobra running me down, i would totally give him the deer-in-the-headlights look and just let him kill me. as for turbos and wastegates, i just can't stand the thought of my car sneezing between gears.

and belt slip is an easy fix. i'd be more concerned about boost lag.

You don't get lag when you size turbos properly....

I don't know watch the second run on this video... 21 seconds the turbo just tells the KB car "good bye" and you can hear it

hear that kb crying in the background?! You know only time you hear those things is when your in front of them

yeah and that motherfucker does pull pretty hard. but did you notice the cobra pull hard as hell instantly every time? but anyway, just like you don't get lag by sizing turbos properly, you can prevent belt slip by wrapping it with an idler pulley (or you can get a bigger blower pulley i guess but fuck that). each setup has their distinct advantages and disadvantages. i wish s/c setups had peak numbers like turbo setups, and i wish turbos had a fatter power curve like s/c's, but you can't have everything (unless you compound boost the mother fucker). each setup lacks something that the other has.

About the weight is true the cobra is way heavier than the fox aprox 400-600 pounds don't remember so don't quote me on this. KB has more low end torque but as soon the turbo reaches his peak it beats the KB... (depending on the size of the turbo and boost)

take a turbo at 11 psi and a s/c at 11 psi... you will see better numbers with the turbo.

You really must not look at turbo power curves often, go to SVTP and look at some of those 19psi kb guys who swapped over to a single turbo kit and are running 15psi the graph is so much fatter after 3k rpm

Just do a search. A turbo will get you the most hp and the quickest 1/4 ET's.

hokai

did anybody even read what i wrote? because i clearly never denied the fact that turbos typically have higher peaks.

IMHO, I think a turbocharger has more potential and will in the long run add more HP.
