v6 Mustang Mod input

Hey guys,

I might be getting a new 2010 v6 mustang, black.

I got a job this summer and i am thinking of using some of it for mods, like say $500-$800

i was thinking about getting things like Angel eyes and some nice rims.

Any other suggestions?

i dont want to look like a ricer, just want the car to look nice

Thanks

Iv spend my money on cold air, Hid lighting and a new axle back exhaust, some times the most dramatic changes are the best to make first, my next upgrade will prob be rims or a new hood, but its all down to personal preference

My suggestion is to wait, see if you get it, then just drive it for a while. Look at other cars, and see what you do and don't like. Then make changes based on what YOU like. Visual mods are very subjective - what other people like you may hate, and vice-versa.

I make this same suggestion for performance mods, as well. Drive the car, and see what YOU think needs improvement, then come back and do the research on why the car behaves in that way and how to improve it.

My first mod will be dual exhaust....cat back.

It's a mod you can easily do without upsetting the warranty.

If they wanted to be a jackass about it they could. That typically depends on how good you are to them.

If something goes wrong, and they can link it to your modification, they will not cover the part. You should be fine with a catback.

I agree, they can always be jackass's...lol....But with the cat back exhaust the only parts they wouldn't warrant would be the exhaust system. There's no way it'll harm the engine (and it would take a lot of proof to do so it wouldn't be worth it..) But as you said, as long as you're nice to them, they should be nice to you.

As for the original question, I think he's looking more for appearance and there are a ton of things for appearance. Side louvers come to mind right off the bat. They make the stang look so cool...A good pin stripe job never hurt either. As for performance (Like I'm after) The dual exhaust, air intake (here they can get real touchy about the warranty, but still really can't hurt anything if you go for a no-tune air induction (BBK has them)). And after that it gets real expensive...so unless I would hit the lotto, I'd stop there..lol...Now if I was to hit the lotto...Hmmm, can you even imagine the Stang I would/could buy??? LOL!!!

I'd say get a spoiler if you don't already have one. Maybe some quarter panel window louvers.

I would start with maybe rims and tinted windows... stuff like that... i agree with ReverandDexter.... i would wait, especially on the bigger things... and definitely wait in the performance category.. not that the 2010 is much different from the 05-09s under the hood, it is the first run of its body style... sometimes thats enough for me to want to wait and see...
