street scene center exhaust

Anyone have this? I was thinking about getting it, but it would most likely sound like shit. Also I dont know if it would effect performance at all.

I have another question also, my other option I love the sound on is the American Thunder with an H pipe. Where did you guys get the over axle pipes and stuff? take off from a GT, or should I have them custom made. Also would 2.5inch tubing throughout be the best?

You choose what mufflers you want on there so it's entirely up to you what the sound would be like. It will effect performance, but so minimal you won't notice.

yes gt pipes would work. No GT pipes are 2.0 inches.

And you won't want a full catback because the tips on the mufflers will make them not fit more than likely. And when you say pipes I hope your just talking mufflers.

For the headers(obviously), and mid pipe get one made for the V6, and then after the midpipe you can get GT stuff. Aftermarket stuff is 2.5 inches though.

i would rather have 2.5 inches, but i dont know how to go about doing that. If I just buy the american thunder axle backs, what else do I need to buy. I would need a midpipe and the over axle pipes wouldnt I? How do I get those? They dont make a american thunder catback do they? I understand that I would need a custom mid H pipe to be made, but what about the rest of the pipes untill the axle backs? Do I just have them fabricated at the exhaust shop?

ok I took a good look at the picture of the exhaust, and it is an axle back exhaust so you would just need everything leading up to the mufflers. Now I'm not 100% on the exhaust for the s197 but I would assume you would just need a midpipe. You may want to get the street scene exhaust, and have a muffler shop fab up the rest.

Really depends on the shop. But some people have had it done for like $40...chances are you'll spend more than $40 though.

and model # 17410 is what every s197 owner should get...

well first off flowmaster wouldnt advertise the american thunder classic mufflers and price them $20 higher if they didnt fit the bill and they specifically say they have a more aggressive tone but the draw back is more interior noise ( which some people like me love ) ... now unless you've heard them for urself theres no grounds to say that the 17460 isn't better than the 17410 ... in my opinion more agressive tone is always the way to go ... as for the pypes system if you can find a custom job cheaper by all means go for it but the pypes system is simply PIPES so who cares that there mufflers aren't great ( you're not gonna use them ) and its the only system i've seen

I think Youngin and I will disagree on the exhaust thing forever! LOL But it is personal choice. I'm thankful everybody has their own taste, cause this life would be pretty boring!
