Clutch not fully disengaging?

Lately my car has been acting weird. Sometimes when I go to stop the engine will bog like it's going to die even though the clutch is to the floor. When it does this when i'm stoped i can let off the break and I start to pull forward sitting on flat ground. When i have it in neutral and my foots off the clutch it seems to sound like a diesel engine. Almost sounds like somethings rubbing. I've been told that our transmissions are just poorly built and make a lot of noise but i'm starting to think it's something more severe. Could I be looking to replace my fly wheel or clutch soon?

This may sound stupid, but do you ever have your A/C on when it happens?

I'm assuming you still have the stock clutch quadrant? That thing's a piece of trash. Get rid of it and replace it with an aluminum one and a firewall adjuster.

I suggest Maximum's kit, but there are other decent ones out there.

The A/C might be the culprit for where the noise is coming from but it isn't going to cause the car to move while you have the clutch pedal fully depressed.

Yeah I didn't think so. I dunno what's up with it. I hope something isn't about to break because I can't even afford an oil change right now

how many miles is on your car? Has anything been done to the transmission (clutch replaced etc)? You may want to see if any Transmission shops around you will do a free inspection. Never know it might be something simple that they can fix for under $50.00

Err, no, hahaha. Sorry, I didn't see what you had.

Actually, with an S197, don't you have a hydraulic clutch?

I wonder if oil on the clutch plate could cause it? Maybe check for leaks?

If it is making noise while in neutral it could be the input shaft bearing being worn.

Transmission oil.... Its hard to say without being there or hearing it. At 115k miles who knows.... I'd get it inspected.

sounds like the preasure plate is going bad to me. mine has done it with the spec alunimum flywheel and stage 3 clutch. i had to switch to fadanza and a duel friction clutch.
