Twin turbo kit or Supercharger kit?

Which would give me more overall gains? And I know that some of you are going to say to sell my v6 and get a v8 but I just don't want to do that

twin turbo definately. turbos are more costly and harder to install though. I might go the d1 procharger route because noone makes turbo kits for our cars anymore.

Twin turbos.

But for ease of installation and reliability, go with an Xcharger.

I'm running a vortech S/C and I made 306 to the wheels on a psi pulley with about everything else being stock.

Twin turbo would make more power

Do super chargers have the equivalent of a turbos waste gate? Say you wanted to run 8 psi at sea level, but also sea level plus 8 up high. On a turbo this can be taken care of with a waste gate. Seems like a good feature to have on a super charger as well.

How much more power would a twin turbo make than a supercharger? I mean I have heard of some cars running twin turbos that have ungodly amounts of hp, but I havnt heard what kind of hp they would get if they just got a super charger

Thinking about it. The Top Fuel Funny Cars and rails run Super Chargers. Haven't seen a single turbo charger at the drags. But I have heard that turbos are more efficent. Maybe its a matter of scale.

And I've also heard that some type of procharger can take a full 2 seconds off your 1/4, that sounds way to good to be true

well any supercharger or turbo can take as many seconds off your 1/4 as you like.... it just requires money

You could raise your post number (without spamming) and go to the classifieds section of the forums and see what people have for sale there.. if you can't find it post a thread and ask if anyone has one.

ummm what the hell... the xcharger is a horrible supercharger... the power is so limited on that blower... it is almost impossible to go beyond 300hp...

these are common questions asked in the 4.0 section. now please read a sticky and you will learn more about it. twin turbo's will be better in the long run but it will also cost you more than an arm and leg... the supercharger does not have lag so boost will kick instantly but twin or not.. its all in the driver and what hes comfortable with...

Nope, the waste gate diverts the exhaust around the turbine inlet to reduce or add boost. You have to change the pulley to change blower boost. Turbos always make more power than blowers because they power they use is basically free. On the 03 cobra they did some tests and at the same boost (around 20), on the same engine (except an 01 intake for the TT) the turbos made some crazy amount like 250hp and 150ftlbs more than the eaton. Turbos are always better, but require more maintenance, have a much trickier and costly install, and are not smog legal in most cases. Here is my rough description of relative power adders.
TQ curves only.

make some real power with out spending $6k

Power house I think makes a kit
the Xcharger is best used in the trash can.
