aluminum ds doesnt work
Well me and youngin found out that an auto ds would work on a manual car. Which is not the case. Well me and my dad tried to install it today and the ds is about 5 inches to short. we stretched it out as far as me and him could pull it and it still is about 3 inches to short. I just contacted coast for a solution to this problem. Any thoughts or ideas?

I'm not sure I follow.
Did you but an aluminum drive shaft for an auto and try to put it on your manual? |

Trade it for the alternative drive-shaft? The automatic and manual transmissions are probably a different length, hence the two different driveshafts. I wouldn't know from personal experience or knowledge. Just a speculation on my part.

The driveshafts are definatley different for the V6 manual and auto.
Coastline shows on their site two different shafts for the automatic and the manual so I am sure that you will just have to swap them out. |

I think when we contacted them they thought we were talking about a GT. They just said the GT driveshaft no matter auto or manual are the same length, but the v6 auto and manual are different.

you told me it would work, but I am not blaming you lol. Anyone could make that mistake. They said they could "retube" it for 200 dollars to fit my car. Its just a few inches 2 short. I told them that that is a little much to "retube" a driveshaft considering the original cost of the driveshaft plus the cost of shipping. I am waiting for a reply.

The one piece shaft is the same for the GT auto/manual, GT500 Auto/manual and the V6 auto. The V6 Manual is the only one that is different. |

the transmission is shorter I am guessing, which is the problem. But the v6 auto, gt, and gt500 all share the same ds
