Who actually talks like that, let alone types like that? You have two red bars for a reason dude.

So you read an article that was bashing V6 auto tranny's, but you don't know shit from first hand experiences?

OP, unless you have ton's of money, and are going hardcore into the modding world, start with some basic stuff such as gears, tlok, cai, exhaust, and such. If you're pretty sure that you're going to get forced induction, go ahead and get an 8.8" rear end with 3.73 (or whatever you chose) gears.

Doing one mod at a time is a lot more fun than doing everything at once, unless you are going all out and trying to get a single digit car, of course.

Whatever you do, you'll enjoy it, because it's a Mustang.

As for the warranty, there was a lawsuit that specifically dictates that any modification can NOT void the warranty unless it is proven beyond doubt that the modification caused the failure. i.e. if you put a turbo on and send send a rod through the oil pan your warranty is voided, however if you put on a CAI and your trans gives out they can not void your warranty for that.

As for just wanting performance gains exhaust is going to give them no matter your setup, get one you like the sound of since you have to drive it all the time

and the 4r70w is one of the best transmissions ford ever made

to beat a 94-98 gt all you need is a cold air kit / tuner combo, and a true dual exhaust system. to beat a 99-04 gt you'll have to get 4.10 gears and a t-lok. to beat an 05-10 gt you're going to need a supercharger.

yea like GreenFaleen said, they have to prove what you did caused the problem, so basic bolt on's should be fine.
I dont want to void my warranty either but i got duel exhaust, a CAI, and SCT tuner w/ 93 octane tune. I think those are some good mods to start out with for someone in your situation. Next on my list is gears and t-lok

Torch red, go to your glove box, pull out your 2010 Model Year Warranty Guide. Open it to page 13. Damage caused by Alteration or Modification. So ANY modification to
the drive, emissions(they specifically include intake and exaust systems) or performance enhansing powertrain components, or software... So, will they fix your power window
problem, most likely. Anything to do with your drivetrain ? Probably not. I dont know if anyone here is an attorney, I am not. I wont give you legal advice. I do know a lawsuit is not law of the land untill the US Supreme Court upholds it, so something in NC might not apply where you and I live. I will tell you the burden of proof is on you. And I will tell you from experience that you can rack up $5,000 in attorney fees faster than you can believe. So, from my earlier post, do you need that warranty or not?
I still recommend you save, study, plan for now. Your warranty will be up in no time, probably way before you are out of school.
And as you stated, you are already faster than 75% of cars.

Warrenty issues that I've had have included the fearsome gass fillup issue, where the gas tank reads wrong, then doesn't let you put more than half a tank in before it does the automatic cutoff of the gas pump; problems with the instrument panel, and the speedometer was bouncing everywhere; a leak under the dash from rain water; and a problem with the trunk release latch...all were fixed for free (obviously none of my mods caused these problems... I doubt the tuner messed up the intrument panel) , and they were very nice, replacing all my carpet for free .

The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975 is a U.S. federal law passed by Congress that establishes your rights as a consumer with regard to product warranties. Ford would be hard pressed to even suggest that a cat-back exhaust mod caused any problem. Or even a CAI, since Ford sells those for the V6 through Ford Racing (along with a custom tune). And they install CAIs on all of the 2010 GTs. The bottom line is that the burden of proof is on the manufacturer to show your mod caused the specific problem.

I wish I had polished bullitts. Those are OE silver bullitts that came with it. I've been trying to find the same in 17X10's or 10.5's. All I can find are Anthracites. No body makes silver bullitts except Coors.

Hey guys, I dont mean to thread steal but I basically have the exact same goals/problems that Torch does. I have a 2010 6er and am looking for some performance advise. I have roughly 5-6k to use (including installation costs, cuz I'm no mechanic) So here's my question. I've looked at an MMR stage II CAI and it claims to add up to 35hp. Now I doubt i'll really get 35, but 20-30 wouldnt be bad. So if I installed a lot of bolt ons, would I actually get the benefits they advertise? Heres what I mean in terms of hp.
210 (stock) + 120 (procharger) = 330hp - pretty safe bet
210 (stock) + 30 (CAI) + 20 (Dual Exhaust) + 12 (throttle body) + 20 (SCT Tune w/ 93) + 20 (Shorty Headers) = 312hp?
I know that some companies exaggerate increases but even so, somehow I just dont buy that bolt-ons will almost match up to GT power.

Any Advise is appreciated.
