Center Console PowerPoint and Cruise Control not Working

So, I just recently purchased a 2005 Mustang V6 4.0. and I've come to discover that the Cruise control and the Center Console PowerPoint Don't work. I went and checked the Fuse Box, and found that Fuse 64 was blown.(its a 20A fuse) So i went to AutoZone and bought me some fuses! when I went to replace it i put a new fuse in and Immediately, as soon as the fuse made contact to slot 64, it blew. I did this 3 more times and it just kept blowing the fuse instantly. So i figured "There must be a coin of some sort in the powerpoint!". But there's nothing....... I'm thinking it may just be a bad PowerPoint. Does anyone have any ideas? or the wiring Diagrams for the Powerpoint? Is the cruise control even linked to this? Everything else in the Mustang works.......

. Check behind the plug to make sure nothing fell in there touching the terminals together and/or a short in the wire somewhere. Im not sure if your cruise control is tied into it or not. But whatever you do do not put another fuse in there and definetly not something that is larger in amperage!!! just FYI it can cause a fire.

A simple check would be to unlplug the power point and then throw the fuse in, if it doesnt blow the fuse then you know what it is but if it doesnt then you have to start searching.

Ok cool thanks. Any Idea how to easily remove the console, at least so i can get to the plug for the power point? My previous car was a Camaro, and I know that thing like the back of my hand, I put a new center console, and even a new dash in one of those, but I'd like to keep my Mustang as new looking as possible.... I don't want to break anything....

alright bro... here you go

i had one on here somewhere,

1) pull up plastic trim around shifter

2) open arm rest (center console) and take out 2 philps screws at the very front or the back (cant remember)

3) pull up the ebrake and then start pulling up the center console (top piece and it may be tight) but just pull up and it will come off (the whole thing will pop up and pulling up the ebrake handle just makes it easier to take off)

4) on each side of the radio there are 2 plastic trim pieces, pull these off

5) now you will see 6 9/32 screws take them off and this will allow you to take that front trim off

6) unplug everything behind it

7) now you will see 4 more 9/32 screws, take these off and you will now be able to take the radio out.

steps 1-3 are the only ones you need to be concerned about. I just put the rest in that way if you ever want to swap out your radio you can reference it.

and if you cant figure it out from there, i would def take it to the dealer and get them to check that baby out for you. that is for real not safe at all and could be very hazardous bro.

Those screws might be covered by rubber stops btw. They were in my 2000 but the stops pop out really easy.

Ok Problem Solved! Apparently the moron that owned the car before me had used the power points wires to power a sub woofer. when he took it out he left the wires under the console.... touching. thus it was blowing every time i put a new fuse in. I went ahead and taped up the wires, but i do not have actual plug that goes into the back of the powerpoint..... its like 60 bucks at Ford. but thank you all very much for your help!
