How big of gains to expect?
So I'm getting some money in a few days and am expecting around 500-600 dollars. I was thinking of getting a longtube header/High flow(or none) cats x or h-pipe. I already have a tuner and my car is already converted to dual exhaust. From the header/no cat set up what should I be expecting with the tune? How about with high flows? If you guys had 500-600 what would you be spending it on? I already have CAI/Tune and most suspension.

You won't pass emissions in Cali with those. And I've read that those who remove or replace the stock cats on a 4.0 end up regretting it. If you look it up on YouTube, you'll see that that set up on a 4.0L V6 will make it pop A LOT. I think LTs will net you around 15 horsepower, so if you think that's enough of a trade off for, IMO, a crappy sound, then go for it. Personally, I would rather get an 8.8 rear and then upgrade to 4.10s.

Long tube headers are really going to sound poor on the 4.0, it would benefit you if you had a supercharger or turbo which you dont at this point. If you're deadset on getting headers, you'd be better off getting shorty headers and keeping the cats (especially since you live in Cali) or like Antonio323 said get gears and t-lok.

Okay well you guys talked me out of it. But if I'm going to replace the gears and do t-lok I'm going to just a new 8.8 rear end. The issue I'm havign really is trying to find one. I have a hard time trusting the used ones on ebay but at the same time I don't have $1400 to spend just because they say it came out of a GT500. I'd really just like to find a used 8.8 for maybe around ~$800 with 3.73's and maybe T-lok already installed.

I checked both AM and NTO, on NTO it doesn't have the gears yet and it's over $1000, on American Muscle it's $1300 and already has gears done. I really am having a hard time wrapping my mind around a used rear end just because I don't know how hard someone beat on it. I'm thinking of just saying screw it and going for some appearance mods, any advice there guys?

+1 on the tint! I had 35% on my 2010 v6 and looked great, I cant wait to get the 5.0 tinted.
As far as exterior appearance mods the world is your oyster lol. there are tons of options for the mustang. Here is mine as it came from the factory ![]() Just so you can see how some of the different things that can be added to the car to change the appearance.
