Faint knocking noise from stop n go?


Whenever I stop at a stoplight and then accelorate i hear a faint knocking noise coming from the rear of my car. I want to say fron the axel/tranny area. it sounds like someone just knocks one time and then its over until next stoplight. What is it?

bad u joint, i bet u also hear a knock/clunk when u put it in gear if its an auto.

wtf.. I am so tired of this piece of junk. anyways. Like i dont think it knocks when i put it in gear. But how much is this u joint?

I am an idiot.. lol i just had put a new bottle of armor all in my trunk. And whenever i would acclorate it would roll to the back of my trunk and knock up against it hahahahahhaahhaa. nothing wrong with my lovely car.. LOCK

Hey, I would rather it be that than a U-Joint any day of the week! I'm sure everyone here can say they have had something like that happen to them. I cleaned my car inside and out for two weeks straight usin every air freshener i could grab and still couldn't get the ass of a cat's smell outta my car then one day opened my trunk to see the garbage bag full of trash and cat litter that my mom told me to take to the dumpster two weeks ago. It happens.

I've got the same noise. The only thing that makes sense is the U joint. But in my case, the U joints were replaced ~5k mile ago with my AL driveshaft. I'm wondering if since my car has been lowered ~1.4", and I'm still using the stock tall pinion snubber, if that did help in damaging the rear U joint by causing excessive axle wrap when bottoming out the rear occationally. Or may be I got stuck with crappy U joints with the driveshaft.
