Want to custom my v6 mustang

I got an 08 mustang v6 and want to get parts for it. I was looking at getting a catback exhaust, cold air intake, tune chip, h pipe and headers. I wanted advice on which brands would be the best to get. I also wanted to know which type of pipe is best and if I need a tune chip. The car is stock and I want to slowly mod my car with affordable parts. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Most people will agree with me on saying go with a SCT tuner. I would recommend getting it from tricktuners.com.

And for exhaust go to youtube and check out exhaust clips and see what you like.
I don't know much about 05+ mustangs so thats all i can advise

I have a v6 w/ProCharger, SCT, and the single axle back Magnaflow. I know most guys go with the duals but the Magnaflow sounds great and you don't have to change or cut the rear valance - at least until you want to do more. It is great bang for the buck. I've done alot with my 2006 Pony Trim; when you get ready let me know and I'll share some of my other projects. I've tried to keep the cost down while doing some remarkable changes that has helped the looks and performance of the understated V6 Mustang. Have fun, they are great cars. dkd

If you go this route you might want to look into the new JB package or one that is the full deal. Most have the whole kit including a new valance, but you will have to have it painted. As it was stated earlier go to a video website and listen to some choices. I have been on a tight budget so re-doing the whole exhaust wasn't an option but if you can go the whole package route it will add HP and more.
You might look in your area and see if you have a Ford Dealership that does performance upgrades - you will be surprised at the prices and the products. Also look for specialty shops that feature Mustang and Shelby. In the Kansas City area I've found a few places that have worked with me on several projects with great deals for my budget and my taste. Enjoy.

I got the Ford Racing muffler.

I can't comment on how it sounds because it is still at the repair shop.

I know I'm not much help but I just need to vent my frustration. As soon as I get it back I will have more to add.

I am doing basically the same thing that you (and many others) are doing, building on a budget. You can see in my sig the mods I have done so far. I got the pypes true duals with x-pipe. The manager of a local meineke shop told me he could have put together the whole exhaust for cheaper than I paid for the pypes system w/ shipping. Something to look into.
I am very happy with everything I've done so far. Next will be brakes and suspension, drive shaft, and finally F/I. Good luck with your upgrades.
