Anyone know about Turbos or a SC on a V6
My daily driver is a S197 V6. I love the car but it is on the slow end. Does anyone have any experience with a turbo or a Supercharger on a V6? I'm wondering what the cost would be and if it would get me decent power or if I would be in jeopardy of messing up the motor.

You could always check the boards over at The Mustang Collective Forums - Powered by vBulletin as they are 99% V6 Mustang owners there.

Mustangcollective would be a good site for info.
I know a couple of members Rygen and Buckman that had V6s. They installed Powerhouse single turbos and got their cars down to 10.9 and 11.00 in the 1/4. Obviously their cars were subject to other mods...but just goes to show you how potent a 4L V6 can become with the right power adder and supporting mods. Think both those gentleman have swapped out to 5.4L motors |

Thanks for all the info guys. I'll get to checking into it and keep you posted. I'm just wondering how practical this will be on my daily driver.
Does anyone think that this will help/hurt my gas mileage? |

Superchargers inherently draw hp to make hp; it's called parasitic loss. Turbocharging has free hp. In fact, STS (Squires Turbo Systems) say their systems may even improve mileage by 1-3mpg. And if I remember correctlly, they have a kit for the v6. Hope this helps.

I have an sts turbo installed in my 05 v6. Like any F/I it has its pros and cons many people dont like the sts kits but dont have experience with them so heres my experience with the kit so far. Im very pleased with the power increase i have seen im presently running 305 hp at the rear wheels at 7 psi, there is turbo lag but not as much as people say, in my opinion the sound cant be beat it sounds like nothing else. Weather is a factor i have driven in the rain many times with no problems but if flooding occurs your in trouble. The oil system makes me a bit uneasy but im more comfortable now that i have driven the car with the kit for a couple of months now. Most of all i love seeing GT's trying to screw with me and than i blow them away and they dont know what happened lol. Also the sts turbo kit does improve gas mileage slightly but i dont think as much as they say it does.

I have a custom built kit similiar to the PH kit on an 05 auto and I love it. I run Low 12's now and once the stall and gears are in I expect high 11's. The 4.0 can handle up to 450 horse on stock internals with good tune. About the same as stock internal 4.6. I ran around at 415rwhp for a while but dropped the boost a couple pounds because I was maxed out on the cobra injectors. Im making around 385 at 12 psi with otherwhise stock enguine. Dont mix N20 and boost though as that is what is kills these 4.0's.

I have a twin turbo custom build on mine. It is my daily driver so I have it tuned very conservatively. Putting down around 330 at the wheels at only 4.5 boost.
