Which Flowmaster To Go With?

I know you guys HATE exhaust threads since that's all there ever seems to be, but I'm kind of confused on the route to take. According to Flowmaster's site, my 06 V6 should go with the American Thunder Series, however, I've heard that the 40 Series is the way to go. If that's indeed the case, and I should go with the 40's I have two questions;

1) What size should I go? What is the stock size of the mid pipe on a v6? Also, my buddy is saying single chamber is the way to go....any truth to that?

2) I was looking at various sites and it looks like the smallest change is made per part number. What I'm looking for then is part numbers of what will work.

40 series are good for the New edge's (99-04) models .

Dual american thunders are uncontrolled loud and it sounds pretty good on our s197's but you can also go with borla stingers if you have that kinda cash it sounds a little better and smoother . and for mid pipe go with a custom made H pipe with 2.5 piping

Meaning, is a 40 Series Delta an American Thunder or is the A/T it's own muffler?

reason I need to know is because at the part store, when I asked for the part number provide on flowmasters site, they tell me that it's for a kit and for just the muffler, I have to choose the 40 delta or super 40

The american thunder is just a name of the exhaust system type. The american thunder systems use more aggressive sounding mufflers, Flowmaster also has other series like force II. For example the american thunder series for the 04-08 f150 uses a super 40 muffler while the force II uses a milder 50 series muffler.

I just finished reading you're other post. Yeah that is really steep for a midpipe and 17410 kit installed. Where do you live in canada.

The inlets on these systems are 2 1/2 ". The 17410 has a 4" tip included on the outlet of each muffler.

Ya, I thought it was 2.5 or 2.25...So I finally got the parts guy to do his job and look into what I was telling him and he found me the American Thunder setup for $215 a muffler or $130 for the Super 40. I assume that it would be smarter to go with the full American Thunder Kit seeing as it already has the tip and brackets required?

I'm in BC, Vancouver area.

Yeah buy the time you buy 2 tips and pay someone to weld on hangers you might as well
buy the kit. You have to watch some exhaust shops and their booger welds too. Some exhaust shops hack and slash some are artists.
