duals with Y pipe vs. true duals

my sister has the V6 and is wanting to get true duals. she doesn't want to use the y pipe. will she need a tuner to do this change and what is needed other than the obvious. is there a kit you can simply buy or will she have to go and have an exhaust shop make her the proper pipes from the headers to the midpipe. thanks for the help as i don't know anything about the V6. she is also wanting to get the best throaty sound she can. i know a prochamber w/ the FRPP stingers sounds great on the 4.6 for a throaty sound, but what about the 4.0

go with the Y if you want a bit more mpg . difference isnt much. go with the H for a louder throatier sound and even back pressure . also i dont see why you would need a tuner for exhaust. i have never seen a exhaust that needs to be tuned . the prochamber with the frpp sounds decent until higher rpm's but thats all exhaust cause v6's tend to get raspy in the higher rpm's

go to an exhaust shop have them build you true duals with a cross over pipe from the cats back and put in the mufflers of your choice will run around 300-450 depending on the mufflers you wnat

He may be getting rid of the Cats and instead of buying MIL Eliminators he might just buy a tuner because he wants the small but positive power gains and his sisters car might be an auto and the tuner will liven up the shifts, not to mention the drive-by-wire that leaves some to be desired that the tuner can easily fix.

car is a manual and she hasn't stated anything about keeping cats or not. i'm sure she'll want mil eliminators for now as she is trying to keep costs down. she is in oklahoma and there are no inspections.
