if a roush tvs blower fits a 4.6L then can a GT 500 blower be retrofitted?
So I noticed the tvs blower fits both the 4.6L and The 5.4L so can you put a gt500 blower on a 4.6? and what would the results be and has anyone done it?

The actual supercharger is the same but the manifolds are different for each engine. Different deck heights and intake port configuration and so on.

it can be retro-fited, someone has already done the research, but they want about 3 grand for the lower intake so its not reasonable.

is it possible to have one fabricated for less. And if so I'll take one off your hands beefmobile. Or can you use the charge motion plates to bridge the gap and do some machine work?
And beef can you take some pictures of the supercharger and post them up for me? (top and bottom) |

to have an intake custom fab'ed is not cheap, actually it is pretty damn expensive. a company could make a KILLING if they started producing a system that included everything to install a GT500 blower, minus the blower. there are stock gt500 blowers floating around for sale EVERYWHERE!!!!!!

your fucking insane. But!!! if you do it, thats AWSOME!
you need to design a lower manifold that has proper intake spaceing and will align the belt. also, the injectors.. alot of work... but only about $50 in aluminum sooooo.. your you've got a CNC machine and a CAD program, its a $50 mod. |

i did all the research for this project....and it came in around $5000.....the lower intake would be a roush p51 as the come stock with the tvs but they want 2700 for the intake, then 8 rib conversion as thats what the gt500 blower is, injectors and other misc and it doesnt take long to get up there...most expensive thing was the roush p51 intake.

I have thought about doing it on a friends car, getting the roush lower and using a gt500 blower, I have a spare gt500 blower but it is on loan to someone right now for testing. Beef, how much do you want (justin@vmptuning.com)

Are these complete systems? I am curious on the asking price as well.
If I were to go about using these on a 3v 4.6l, I would look at adapters to go from the 5.4 4v to the 4.6 3v instead of biulding a whole manifold. It would be a crazy looking adapter but would be a way cheaper option.

Okay, first of all you'd just need the Roush TVS intake manifold and than you could bolt it up. It's not cost effective though because Roush will rape you for it. Remember I was going to go this route? There is also slight differences in machining between a blower for a 4.6 and 5.4 ... EGR, etc.

What's funny is, all of this was discussed and it's in plain english, the "adapter" is the intake itself. Can we focus here? That means no matter what the starting price is 2700 for the p51 I think I saw while scanning?
No back yard, hill billy developed manifold or adapter is going to come available that makes this feasible. Some major corporation needs to take this on and with that come 3k, 4k, maybe 5k premiums to cover their R&D..
