I had a set of Mac's on my Gt and they rusted-up in a matter of months, imho there coatings are JUNK....remember, you get what you pay-for and the only reason I went wth them was I was in a jamb, no one else had a L/T on the market at the time (1999) and I couldn't beat the price of $159.00 for them and these were the 3" collector version, which I dont think they make anymore...given what I know now, I'll never buy Mac anything....

Kook's now and yes it was surface rust, but wth there so-call "high temp" quality coatings, this shouldn't have happened in only a few months

I got mine as a christmas present from the wife last year. They have a little surface rust on the bottom near the collector. I havnt seen a set of longtubes yet that dont get a lttle surface rust on them(other than cars that never see rain)

yeah, I know they'll rust over time but shouldn't in a matter of months, un-less the coatings were inferior, which imho, they were...also my car was/is not a d/d...

if you have a set and there showing any signs of rust, I'd suggest have them blasted and re-coated....

you said you bought a set almost 10 years ago, im sure the coating have gotten better. Ive had mine on for a year with 20k miles driven. Just a lttle surface rust on the bottem by the collector, but thats gonna happen. Other than the spot on the bottem they still look fairly new.

Do you think Bassani Race axlebacks are louder or quieter than my Violators?

Oh and do you know what country Mac stuff is made in?
Ive been to MAC and Pacifica headquarters over a dozen times. They are in Temecula, CA and they make everything in-house...a good ol' american product.

Oh even Pacifica is American made? Well that helps sell them to me in my opinion. I am probably gonna go with them, I want something I KNOW will do what I want, and these should fit the bill.

Now, just gotta find a good, US-made axleback. I'm sick of this Pypes chinese shit.
