I thought some one was going to add a write up on how to install long tubes? Anyone know where a guy could find one?

The how to/tech section. It is a sticky in this section. Also I think Mickey has a write up. PM him if he doesn't chime in

I didnt do a write up, it was more like a live progress thread. Let me tell you something though, I didnt have shit for ground clearance so there were just some things that I made extremely difficult for myself.

I couldnt get the last two header bolts in on the drivers side. I even had the help of another member on here and he couldnt get to them either...The thing that will help the most is taking your time and having the correct tools and ground clearance

What does ground clearance have to do with header bolts? Don't have anyone with a lift you could use for 15 minutes?

Well Towelly, when you dont have ground clearance, it is hard to manuever your body to certain angles that would allow for you to further reach these elusive bolts...

That doesn't make sense, you were on jack stands right? Or was your car on the ground when you were doing it (That seems a little impossible) .

If your car is up on stands then ground clearance has nothing to do with anything. Your car is off the groud 12 inch's, unless your jack stands were to small....

AHH Gotcha. When I think of ground clearance, I think of the space from the bottom of your car to the ground, as it sits on the ground .

You guys know anyone running Pacesetter long tubes? Damn things are cheap. I knew F-body guys that were running them and had similar gaines as any other Long tube for those cars. I am wondering if they are tuner friendly or if the 02 bung is in a bad spot. I heard some long tubes can make things a pain if the 02 bung is positioned in a bad spot. Not to sure about that though. Tell me what you think.

I don't know anyone, nor have I heard of anyone running pacesetter's on a S197. If I were you, the only ebay type headers I'd be looking at are OBX's. Tribaltek loves his and they are dirt cheap for LT's. In the end I think I am going to end up with MAC's though and you can get a great deal from 07stanggt on those.

I just bought Pacesetter ceramic long tubes with o/r h-pipe for $460 shipped, brand new. UPS should be delivering them any day now. I have seen a few post here and there and its seems that people that actually have them say they are good quality and fit fine. As for the o2 sensors if it does set off a cel it can be corrected in the tune. The people that had them did not mention a cel problem though. I will let you know how the quality is when I get them in my hands.

I used the write-up that scrablr posted. Just make sure you jack it up high enough and you'll be fine. Remove the cold air or stock air box, battery, and battery tray for extra space. As for the started just the 3 bolts and lay it down. No need to remove the cables

If there is, I haven't found it yet. If they weren't stainless, it would make sense... but they are

I got a set of pacesetter LT's sitting on my garage floor. I would be interested if there are any issues with the O2 sensors. That and time are the only things standing in the way of installing them.
