C&L CAI on a 2007 GT

Have any of you installed the C&L CAI on a 2007 GT?

I have and could not find where the support bracket was supposed to go. I have since noticed that the bottom of my filter is rubbing against the plastic shield, enough to seriouly wear into it.

Not sure if I am just not seeing where it should go or if they changed something on the 07.

Thanks for the help.

Hi I never found a place for that bracket either, but I havent needed it I guess. I just bolted the sheild down with the same 10mm bolt that held the stock air box. The clamp on the throttle body is the only other place its attached to anything solid.

I used the plastic ties in the box that came with it to tie the sheild over to one ofthe anti-lock brake lines like the instructions said on mine.

Did you also get an SCT Xcal2 to bring it to life? My GT is black too with white stripes.

Merry Christmas!! " I hope thats still ok to say " :wink

Hey Warlok. Have you taken your filter off and looked at the bottom of it? Mine is definitely rubbing on the bottom - way too much when I hard accelerate.

I have the diablosport predator 93+ tune for the C&L. Was a pain to get back in Aug/Sep. Merry Christmas!

You know, I havent taken it off since I put it on. I will today and see if mine is rubbing. Pretty cool, you have a scoop, and I have stripes down mine, but our cars look alike to me.

Thanks man....

Hey Black07cs,
Did you have your car painted, or was it always black? I am curious cause the inside of your engine compartment looks like it used to be white. If that is factory, you should have them finish that up for you under warranty. Look at the pictures above yours on this post to see what I am talking about. His whole compartment is black.

Not trying to bust on ya or anything, I just hate when Frod does someone wrong.

Good catch.

Ford is buying this car back due to that exact reason. I have a new one on order that is supposed to be here next month. The only difference is I ordered it with 3:55 gears this time.

I brought the paint issue up with my dealership 3 weeks ago and Ford took care of me!

I will be yanking my mods in the next two weeks to put on my *new* new car. Nothing like getting 5k free miles and the new car smell all over again!
