If you don't mind, Chad, I'd like to piggyback on this thread and ask if anyone has installed a full DIN head unit and a 1/2 DIN EQ. I've not seen a faceplate that will accommodate this setup, but I'd like to install this. Thanks.

Avic-D3. Elemental Designs Subs and Amp. I have an Eclipse Amp and some Pulk Audio components and coaxials but have not installed them yet. I love the Avic-D3 Ive had it for almost 2 years. The newer Pioneers Ive heard have bad lagging times.

Nice and clean

Regarding the lag times, in the avic z series the software updates have taken the lag out significantly. I have a Z-1 in my avalanche with the z-3 drive and maps. Thing is damn quick in comparison to the older z-1 interface.

The new F series stuff is reporting bad lag now as well, I fully expect pioneer will get that fixed in due time.

I have this.

Alpine iDA-X100 Digital media receiver at Crutchfield.com

It doesn't play CDs, just radio and Ipod. The rest of my stereo system is entirely stock but it is amazing how much this wakes it up. Much better sound than the stock stereo. Also, it is the best sound I can get out of my ipod anywhere. Even songs that sound muffled through other stereos or headphones sound crisp through this.

Sometime I would like to upgrade more of the stereo system but am more interested in performance mods right now.

I have a Pioneer PH8000BT in my car. I have yet to take any pics of it though. Tribaltek has the same headunit as well. I love mine. I have the shaker 1000 in my car and its 100x better than with the factory head unit.

I've got the AVIC F90BT on my ride. The lag isn't bad at all -- you can fix it, but it requires a little tweaking. Once you boot the unit into test mode, disable error reporting, and reduce the memory allocation to about 2mb, the unit is really fast. Disabling the key beeps also speeds it up dramatically.
