Trany is slowly going
Well now my car wont go into second gear(it grinds) under a higher load, downshifting, or anything other than normal daily driving, which its perfectly fine. Im thinking syncros if my limited knowledge about trannies is right, wht would be a economic yet solid fix, or what else could it be, car has 47,000 miles on it

chad do you have a link for the 6060 i looked for it, as far as the clutch its exactly the same as when i bought it, it only does it for 2nd gear

There are different TR6060's , I think 3... two priced similar and one about 1500 more.
not all have hardened gears, and not all gear ratio's same. A little extra money, but will raise value of your car

The 6ers have the T5, the GTs have the TR3650.

that is a common problem with the 3650
. I replaced my syncros twice in my 03 in a year and a half and i wasn't even driving it hard. If you can afford it i would go with a swap like you mentioned above(tr6060), or do some research on upgrading your 3650 and see what people think who have allready done it.

i looked for rebuilds and all over what are some good performance transmission sites/ kits that a trans shop could do i dont have 4 grand for the 6060 and even still id rather s/c before that, Iv seen some stockers built for around 2 grand

There was an updated version, not sure what, that came out last Feb/early March, which is what I purchased new through Kinsel, Ford in Beaumont, Tx. |

NO do NOT waste your money!!NO do NOT waste your money!! I burned 2K+ on a 'built 3650 w/ heat treated gears, softer syncros, better shift forks, 26spline bla bla... 1 yr later, same ole SH#T! THAT's why I say save a lil more, move some $ around, and get a TR6060... or, dare I say it... an AUTO ![]() 3650 is garbage. |
