Does a CAI change the sound of your exhaust?
I don't know how many of you go in the clubhouse so I'll say it here as well, I got a K&N cai for Christmas and today finally got my car out and was able to open her up. Now maybe it's the fact I haven't taken her out in over 2 weeks, but she seems to have a noticeabley deeper and louder sound. Does a cai really make that much of a difference, or am I just imagining things?

+1. Increased airflow makes it louder. . . like a wonderful 8 cylinder musical instrument

the sound you hear is the intake pulling in air since it's an open element filter as compared to the boxed factory unit. It doesn't change the sound of your exhaust.
Try opening your hood, and rev up the engine. You will really hear it then.

Should've at least got the Airraid if you were going to get a no tune required CAI.

Cost isn't the factor, my parents just don't like the idea of me adding horsepower to an already powerful car. If I had my way, it'd be a JLT with bamachips tune. Meh, I'm still happy

Man, if I had a GT when I was still young enough to answer to my parents, I'd be dead today, lol. I did notice the exhaust was louder when I just had a CAI/tune on both my '07 and my '09 GT.
