That's pretty cool. Only thing I don't like is how rapidly the torque drops off, I'd like to see a dyno taht goes down to 1500 or so. That's the problem with smaller engines, you can make power with them if you wanna spin them real high, but you won't have the lowend torque that you'd have with a bigger engine, that's why you're better off with more displacement for a fun street car, but for a race car that only needs high RPM power, this thing should haul ass.

450 would be better but you achieved your goal of 400+ to the wheels, nice rich I think ima use your set up to stay N/A and maybe put a bottle in.

450 wont happen. But im hoping for 420. I think its doable after some stuff i saw yesterday.
Yea urban i know what your saying. The tq still peaks at like 5100 though and driving it around the car doesnt feel like im missing any low end power. But it does loose about 10hp up to like 4500. Besides thats what gear is for in this car. thats why 4.10s are a must on a n/a setup. But i agree, if you want the low end smack you need some cubes, or a twin screw will hit in you in the back like a sledgehammer. |

450 pshhhh. i think since you are worried about the intake getting heat soaked you should cool it off with some n20
when you're already that high it won't take much of a shot to get you close to the engines safety point.

im not to worried about the heat on it. But if i had to name a possible downside on the street that is all i can think off.mathematically my traps at 410 should be what 116.5? if they were 114.5 with 389? get it up to 420 i should trap around 117? 11.5s all motor, dare i say. The good news maybe for my car is justin mentioned that it would be cool to take it to the track and do runs with the stock intake and then switch to his intake, do a same day test. that would answer any questions. i was thinking yea, for me it would be cool to see what a real driver can get outta my car. Im gonna stay on him about doing that. bring a set of those bogarts with you and lets see what this boy can do for real.

A 50 shot would be absolutely perfect for your car...you wouldnt need to really change the tune and it will cool things off a bit

thats where I was at with a blower... I still say you don't have any reason to go above 6900 rpm...the power was dropping pretty hard at 7... unless you are going on the old E=MC squared

Hey rich I got to thinking about it and you may be in the mid 11s. 409rwhp with 4.10 gears is more impressive than I initially thought. I remember in a previous car I had 3.42 gears and swapped to 4.10s or 4.11s cant remember and my rwhp dropped slightly on a dyno jet, sure as hell did not feel like it though, lol. Run that beast at the strip and get her to hook and see what you ET.

Great setup Rich you have me wanting to go all motor now. It's just the money you have to put into it, but having 400+ to the rear wheels N/A is badass. I know it'll run like a bat out of hell. Props brotha.....

The heads are really what kills the n/a setup from a cost perspective. thats the most expensive part and the one thing that most of us just cant do in our driveway. The intake, is a easy job, the cams can be done. Its just the heads, you figure 2100 and then 2000 in related parts and labor at least. Thats the killer right there. I bet, you could hit like 390, on stock heads with the intake cams, full bolt ons, exhuast. It can be done. maybe even 400 with the ud's, and electic water pump, and short belt it at the track on stock heads.

Its funny looking back at some earlier threads about N/A setup and how much power we could get out of them. Now present day your pushing 400+ to the wheels. The 3v's have alot of potential and we are just breaking in on the N/A aspect of our 3v modulars. Yeah the heads are what is costing the most, if i new some that could just port and polish my stockers here in town i'd do that maybe it would be cheaper i don't know.
