Yeah the heads are what is costing the most, if i new some that could just port and polish my stockers here in town i'd do that maybe it would be cheaper i don't know.
its also puts in perspective the cost of a manifold. If just a cammed car gained 18, and those were mild cams. Well 1800 for a manifold for 20 hp, $4000+ for ported heads and labor to gain maybe 30? Depending on what the gains from the c&l manifold look like. You could do it on the cheap so to speak. just use stock heads.

Bear in mind Rich that it's not entirely fair to look at cost vs actual gains realized from things like heads and and an intake.

Another thing you are paying for with modifications like these is not just what they actually provide from bolting them on, but also what they are capable of producing down the road due to their potential.

.................................................. ............See what I did there with the font n'shit^?

lol. 420 something is as much as my car is going to see. but hopefully some other people with pick up where i left off. Maybe 07 procharger will lead the 500 charge on that stroker with a intake manifold and some new toys coming out.

watch physco bob and 07procharger. bob just got stage III heads and is getting big cams. Procharger, who knows what he will end up with, the list will grow monthly. they will be up there.

Its like a 5 minute thing you could do at the strip and gain a easy tenth. i know ill be carrying that belt to the strip everytime this year.
I understand that you gained 10hp from bypassing the power steering, but wouldn't you gain more if you went with a lighter flywheel and flywheel? How is driving it daily w/o power steering?

I have no plans of driveing it without the power steering. Long story short i only short belted for the test to basically see how well it worked, and secondly to simulate underdrive pulleys and perhaps a electric water pump which would be streetable.

But the short belt idea would be a good 5 minute swap at the track for a 1/10

yea its not something i would do anywhere but the track. But for the next run i will have my ud's back on the car and perhaps an electric water pump. So it should even out.

plus 39lb injectors. a single blade TB that im hoping will do a better job then the used old bbk that we threw on to try.

No plans for a aluminum flywheel, but your right if i wanted some higher dyno numbers that would be an option as well.

Sounds like the JPC intake might be something your interested in as well max400.
