Hurst shifter rattle on new shifter

I added a Hurst shifter when I got the 4.10's put in and it seemed quiet at low speeds, but between 2500-3000 RPM under hard acceleration the knob rattles like a coffee can full of marbles. Seems like a little bit more noise/vibration compared to the stock shifter, but not bad at all other than the knob rattle. It's nasty sounding. I'll be searching the posts about this problem and see if I can't make it stop. Other than that I love the shifter.

Had the same problem after I installed mine, and it turned out to be somewhere in the parking brake mechanism. I know they're not connected, but next time you drive the car and get it to where it's makin noise lift the parking brake handle just a little bit and see if the noise goes away. You might also try just pushing the little button on the brake handle and see if that's it.

If this is the case, you need to install a little piece of Dynamat inside the E-Brake handle like the MGW calls for ..

i properly installed mine, but loctite on the bolts
put lithium grease on the knob and the ball joint
put silicon between the shafts

still rattled

don't worry about it. cosmetic issue. short throw+rattle=who gives a fuck.
