so im in my bay at work today wrenching away on the subframe of a mini cooper changing control arm bushings all of the sudden i hear the unmistakeable sound of a mustang come into the shop. i pop up to see a satin silver s197 gt with a bit of a whine .. then my buddy revs it and low and behold that whine is a procharger. so i drop my wrench and run over just intime for them to pop the hood. im in aww at this, as i scope it out with my light i see the long tubes, x-pipe, magnaflow axelbacks, bmr LCA, relo brackets . so im like whats the deal with this ? they tell me it just got traded in its also got 4.10s and nitrous. im like damn all that power and no traction ( still on stock rims and tires).. so i run to the used car manager cuz eah i want this its prett much how i would like to have hellfire. he tells me if we do an even trade its an even trade ( i dont get to switch out stereos and i dont get my 20's ) so im like i dunno cuz i love my wheels and radio not to mention my gt has all the bells and whistles ( leather all that ). this is just a base gt with lots of go fast goodies. not to mention God only knows how hard the last owner beat the shit out of this car. so im like well how bout this let me switch the rear end, LCA, reloc brackets and anyother goodies that wont effect the selling of this ( pretty much everything but the procharger ) that was a no go with him so i walked away and cried alittle

There is no telling what that motor has been through because it has a procharger and nitrous. Unless the nitrous was used for some kind of cooling purpose that motor has been through hell and could blow anytime. I wouldn't risk that deal either.

thats my biggest reason for walking away is beacause i dont know how bad the previous owner beat on the car and motor where he got everything installed and tuned if he traded it cuz it was about to break .. according to one of the other techs the charger had a bad bearing ... and i know how hard im gonna beat on this car so the last thing i need is for it to break the first time i slam a gear. also it was a 5-speed ... who knows how long before that tranny bites the dust .. im still gonna work on getting the rest of the goodies off it though lol mainly the long tubes lol

don't get it.. I don't need any other Satin Silver GTs in here... I guess the dyno would give you some answers... goes it have gauges? what boost is it running? find out who they got it from, bet their posting in a mustang forum somewhere. hell of a delima...

dealership wont tell me who traded it or an of his info wont even give me his info ... if i know the original owner and everything about the car and it was all good and sound i would be all over it but theres to many unanswered questions about the car in whole i just cant afford that risk

I'm 99% sure your boys don't know the unmistakable sound of a procharger, they sound like they are burning up bearings the minute you start the car. That's their normal sound. It's also what makes them very unique.

I'd see about trading for the entire car. Far cheaper to add interior goodies than it is to add all these performance parts.


I drive my car hard, everywhere, but there isn't one person that has seen me get my foot in eleanors ass that wouldn't buy her 10 seconds after I finished.

If the tune is right that car will run long and strong.. regardless of the paces it's been through.
