Need advice/opinion for stripes on 07 GT

Okay, I have a new black 07 GT. I'm looking hard at the silver stripe kit from ford racing at http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...tKeyField=8600
I’m thinking about just the stripes without the ford racing side panels. One, I know this type of thing is purely personal, but I respect you all so lay it on me. Do you like it? If so, who would you get to install it? I live in Omaha, NE, so it’s not like I'm that limited for getting it done. Would you try to do yourself?

i like silver stripes on a black mustang but i wouldnt get the stickers.. i'd get them painted on..

i'd recommend that you take your car to have it done if you want them painted unless you are a very experienced painter

yea get it paint but make sure its not over the clearcoat or else it will chip

cool. Any idea what paint will cost ? Im looking at 360$ for the ford decal + maybe 250 for install. Paint would be ???

paint gonna be expencive usually sold by the court but in the long rune its better

thanks. Im going to look at both options with my local paint pro ( a guy I know). He could probably do both... Is the GT500 paint or decal ?

but yeah, i STRONGLY recommend that you get paint instead of decals if you dont mind spending the extra money.. if you get the decals you will probably regret it in the long run.. ive heard numerous stories of people eventually peeling the decals off

Bwal09.. I'm your pal. I appreciate your advice. Very well, I will look more at the paint. Silver on black. Im just worried that im looking at 2K here or more. If I'm going to spend more than 2K..I may as well get a supercharger.
BTW.. That little argument we had was good. I was heated, you were pissed too. In retrospect you had the better half of the argument in that street racing is crap. But I'm a fool in that I do it....once in while. I'm finding my 2007 GT is a loser magnet.

Wow. 1K ? that is very reasonable. Yes, the 2007 GT black is a clearcoat black. Anything else I need to know when I go to the painter ? What is the actual paint code # (if there is such a thing) for Ford Silver for this type of application ? I know I'm asking too much here...but just a shot.

I agree with the paint and with the color combo. I just wanna point out that the stripe kits don't usually go all the way down over the chin spoilers and back panels , with paint you take it all the way to the ground and that looks much better.

Okay, Here is the car(2007 GT). I just looked in the door jam and it was made in 10/06..just weeks ago. God that color is something. Bad ass black. It sucks to keep it clean though. My pic is with a phone cam, sorry.
