Advice to you racers !

Okay, I feel I need to post this because I’m seeing some really awful stuff out there in the real world when it comes street racing. Look, I’m not an expert, nor some race junkie that looks to spend every waking hour thinking up new ways to smoke people at the green light on a Friday night… So here it is, street racing is fun, and it can be even better if you people would learn how to do it correctly. Number one: Smoking tires is bad. The more you smoke, the less grip those most of the time after market high priced 40’s are going to wear prematurely. Remember, those things are damn expensive. Was it really worth showing it off in front of some rice burner? Tire stick is good! Learn to manage your RPM’s. Number two: stop looking at the guy you are racing and start looking at two things: the damn road in front of you and your RPM gauge. Too often I see solo racers looking at the car that is either smoking them, or in their rear view mirror savoring the win. Stop it; you are going to kill yourself or some innocent bystander as you slam into a parked car at 110 MPH. Number three, learn how to shift. It is human instinct to get excited and start dropping gears at the speed of light in a tight race. Ever missed a gear at 6000 RPM? Bad, and you almost always lose, even if the car next to you is much slower. Oh well, maybe next time I see you out there you will take this advice and use it.

Peace, love, my Mustang brothers---

what the hell is this? a how-to guide on street racing? keep the racing on the tracks, not the streets

and i never want to hear you talk about the dangers of looking in your rearview while racing when you shouldnt be street racing in the first place..

That’s smart, dad. That’s like telling your teenage daughter to practice abstinence until she gets married. It's not realistic. Nor is expecting people driving 400+ HP street vehicles to not participate in green light racing. If one partakes in such an act, then they must understand that doing so is illegal. It is only prudent then to exercise caution as people die doing it all the time. People die doing it on the racetrack too. So please stop with you sanctimonious platitudes regarding street racing when in fact 99% of those on this web-site have done it. It’s been going on since the model T. Do it everyday, no.

so you are telling me track racing is just as dangerous as street racing? think again.. of course the drivers are put at risk, i mean going 1/4 a mile in 10 seconds or less will be dangerous no matter where you do it, but at a track there will ALWAYS be ambulances and fire trucks waiting around in case of an emergency...

the spectators could be put at risk too, but they chose to go to the race and no offense to anybody but i wouldnt feel sorry for a spectator at a track near as much as i would for an innocent bystander who got killed while they were walking down the side of the road..

and i realize that there will still be some numbnuts who street race no matter what but seriously, we need to minimize the casualties here by discouraging it instead of giving people "ADVICE" on how to do it properly..

you dont belong here

as ChrisJ would put it, you should be on a small penis/penis envy forum

Dude, you are not getting it. Of course street racing isn’t 100% safe, but dropping your throttle at a green light for a measly block against some putz isn’t exactly ending the world as we know it. If you do it, use caution and follow some simple rules. The track is the best place for it. Why you decided to go to some level of personal attack is only showing your weak intelligence. I therefore will reserve a comment on that. Good day to you.

Lets see...
"you dont belong here

as ChrisJ would put it, you should be on a small penis/penis envy forum"

that's pretty personal. And also immature. I understand though, you felt like you had to do it, so be it. Let’s just agree to disagree..a little. Remember, we are here for the love of the Frod Mustang. We at least have that between us.

me too. My point was to be just damn careful out there. Im not some street racing fast and furious freak. Im 35 with 2 kids. They want me to come home everyday. Im just saying, its dark, not a car in site, a straight shot, and a loser in a camero with a middle finger. Cmon, there are times when you have to let your pony play.
peace!

If street racers don't belong here then why do we have a "Street Racers" section?Just thought I would ask because it's no secret that I pound the pavement with my 06GT!

Wow, SEC people here. I'm in Omaha and my huskers shot themselves in the foot w/ Auburn. I'd really love to see OSU get beat though.
