It seems the regular Comp Cam NSR cam vs the Thumpr gives up maybe 2-3 HP, but I think its worth it for the sound (I'm still a street car, not a racer). Please someone correct me if I am wrong. That said, it SEEMS the FRPP cam is the best of both worlds. Sound and HP. Am I wrong? Also, I haven't been able to figure out yet if I need the cam phasers for the Hot Rod cams or not. Does anyone know? I know the regular NSR comp cams do not, but the Thumpr's do.
Here is a dyno, thumpr stage II, Hot Rod, and stock. As you can see the thumpr cam really stomps the hot rod cam in the race range.

The green line is the thumpr the red is the hot rod. Figure it this way, if you had 4.10s and shift at 6450 rpms with both cams, your rpms will drop to about 5000. Look on the dyno at the difference in power. With the thumpr cam, your never below 350, with the hot rod you drop down to below 340, this is a dyno of the same car same day, with each cam. The thumprs would win that race easy. On the flip side the thumpr loses a lot more low end, on the street cruisin around town the hot rod is going to be better.

Hot rod is a good choice for sure. in the end it will be cheaper becuase the thumprs need limiters. The hot rod doesnt have the duration or the overlap that a thumpr cam does thats why it doesnt need limiters.

Thanks 07stanggt. Based on your information, I think the FRPP Hot Rod cams are the right ones for me. Now I just need to find one of the tuner companies that sells the FRPP cams. I thought I read someone saying Bamachips does this, although I can't find them on their site.

I can get you the cams, a CAI, a predator with a tune for the cams from Justin Burcham at JPC. That dyno sheet is from Justin. Just throwing it out there, not trying to push you. Its an option.

Im working on Justin's new website now for him, well im loading the product other people are doing the design etc. So i cant link his site.

But here is a video for you. This was the first car with those cams in it, he did it. and here is his mustang, safe to say he knows something about 3vs
