Who has the Black S-197 that used spay tint on the chrome pony grill emblem??

This may need moved to the clubhouse but I wanted to make sure he see's this.

Looking for the guy that used spray tint on the chrome pony grill badge. He also tinted his fogs & painted everything behind the grill black.

I tried to find the post where he had pics but can't find it.

Any help will be repp'd

I don't remember that one.. the black behind the grill is almost mandatory on these cars though.. light silver really stands out through the grill.

That would be me, I think. Although I don't have tinted fogs... Got a question?

Yep!! I was thinking you did the fogs too. I was wondering what did you do to prep the chrome & did you put a clad coat over it??
Also can you post a pic of the pony up close?
Thanks

Sorry, don't have any up close pics of the pony. I just used some 600 or 800 grit sandpaper to scuff if up as best I could, wiped it down with lacquer thinner, and sprayed it with Duplicolor black for plastics. It's not quite flat, not quite semi-gloss - it's something in between. It actually is exactly what I was looking for. I took mine off to do it, but I guess you can leave it on and tape things off. It's dead simple, really.

Thanks, I left rep for you. I thought for sure you had used spray on tint not paint. Well either way it looks good.
I am going to try that with the tint. Going for that black chrome look
