Bare blocks?

Hey guys!

Sorry I have disappeared for some time. Had some girl drama plus got a new car as a daily so I have been spending some time on that.

Anyways, down to the business... It is getting closer to spring time and my goal is to have the Saleen running by OSU's spring break (March 20-29). I've been looking even more and doing more research and looking at numerous options for doing the build on the Saleen.

What exactly is a "bare block?" I was thinking about getting a bare block from here Bare Blocks and using any parts I needed off my stock block and buying a forged rotating assembly so for parts I'd be looking at about $3k + whatever labor is. Would this be worth it or should I get a pre-built block from somewhere?

I'm almost ready to pull the trigger just I need to make sure what I get will last and will do what I want.

As far as what I'm doing, I'm pretty sure I'm keeping my 2.4 KB with some cooling modifications. I want to run either a 150 and 100 shot or 125 and 75 shot as my "oh shit" bottles. What block would be good for this and as far as ENGINE wise, what would I need to go with this?

And RadMust, heard you can get deals on engines and engine parts and what not so I'll be talking to you probably, still remember your hookup and good service with the cams (that I never got to install haha)

I THINK the heads are fine not sure. Car is currently in my garage with everything still in tact. Still searching for a good reputable shop to take it to I'm trying to get it built locally if I can. Would be SO much easier.

If I end up needing heads I probably will just get the stock heads and have them machined or whatever people do to heads, I'm still kinda rookie when it comes to engine builds

If I could get a good enough deal to make it worth the trip I will... I have been wanting an excuse to borrow a trailer and tow the Saleen with the H2

Whatever I can get to work that will be a strong long lasting motor that I can beat the hell out of, get the power I want, and stay within my budget, then yea! Haha
