loosen the clamp at the back of the midpipe and loosen the bolts on the axel back, move everything around till it lines up where you want it and have someone hold it there while you tighten it back up.
Make sure nothing in the pipes will be hitting the diff or anything else to rattle on.

I had to do a combo of both adjusting the hangars and adjusting the connection at the mid pipe because when I adjust the over axle pipe to make the tip centered, the over axle pipe would vibrate on the axle. So I bent the hangar a little bit and adjusted the mid pipe connection.

Oh man, I fought with mine on a lift several different weekends to get things lined up. All the advice above is true - loosen, refit and realign. Then, you get to go back and do it all over again because something is rattling! Oh boy!

The lift doesn't help either unless the lift lifts the car by all 4 wheels. If you lift the car by the chassis, get everything lined up then lower the car, it will be out of alignment again. It would be nice if we could crawl under these cars without lifting them. Maybe my uncle will let me use his pit!!

Maybe I'm just not visualizing this, but how does an unloaded suspension have anything to do with how the exhaust is aligned?

Because when you load it the axle could hit the over-axle pipes.

It has everything to do with aligning exhaust. If you lift the car by the 4 jack points, the body will actually flex a little.

When I had the exhaust done on my Dakota I had to take it back to the shop several times because they would lift in, look at the the tail pipes and tell me it was straight. I finally had them look at it when it was off the lift.
