Using Aux-In on 2005-2006 Shaker 500

Does the Shaker 500 on the 05 and 06 mustang have the correct connections to use one of these cables and use the Aux button on the radio? I know the 2007+ models have a similar cable(but I think it's a receiver that can be plugged into instead of plugging into something else in the center console)

I just want something to tide me over till I put a new in-dash to replace the stock system(hopefully one that will use SD cards) because I'm tired of making mp3 cds all the time. I mean, they're not too much of a problem, but I have a lot of cds with 4 or so folders, and then a lot of them have the same songs, give or take 20 songs on each updated cd, so it would be much easier to just listen off my zune.

If I can just directly plug this kind of cable in, Can I just run it from behind the stereo and beneath everything up to the center console and put a hole in there to make it look flush?

I'm not too up on if this would work, I've put a little thought into this a long time ago when I got my car, but just ignored it, and figured that since I'm going to be screwing around beneath the dash this week for the nitrous setup, I may as well do this if I can at the same time and get the added use out of that damn button that sits there doing nothing

I'm sure with some fab work you could maybe make the button work, but its basically a dead space on our cars. I'm almost certain of it. I know some guys that use it as a nitrous purge or arming button, but thats about it. I've never actually seen anyone use it for entertainment system purposes.

I could be wrong though.

Well I know there's a wiring kit that allows you to use an ipod through the aux button, and control it through there. Kit costs around 100 bucks though if I remember correctly, so I would rather just put that towards the in dash I'm getting instead.

I pulled the deck out of my 06 when I use to have subs to see if I could connect it to that and It didnt have ANYTHING back there to use. Had to tap to the back speakers. Idk if that helped.

My aux button works. You plug your mp3 into the jack in the arm rest storage then push the aux button & listen to your music

There is no means on the 05-06 Shaker headunits to install the aux port in the console, unfortunately.

Your best bet would be to start with a new headunit and speakers up front.

idk what the back of the shaker 500 looks like, but if there are rca inputs on it not being used then you could use that wire to do it, in all of my vehicals (minus the mustang) when i installed a deck with rca inputs on the back i just took a set of rca cables and a headphone jack and wired them together myself (i do alot of stereo work so i have alot of spare wires available to cut up as i see fit) and it has worked amazing every time, then i just run the wires under the carpet into the center and it's good to go so far i've put it in 4 of my cars and all of them work just fine.....hope that helps

Like some way to run a single wire from back of stereo unit into the center console so I could hook up my phone and play the 3GB of music
