Location for oil pressure sending unit - autometer gauge?

From what I can tell by my search, it looks like there is an allen plug near the factory oil pressure sending unit that I can use for my aftermarket gauge. Is that correct? If not, where are you guys tapping into for a second sending unit?

Thanks.

Ok, just had a thought. Why can't I just remove the stock one and put the autometer sending unit in it's place? I only have an idiot light, and I can't see removing the stock one causing a problem or throwing a code.

Any thoughts?

That allen you mention is commonly used. I have not gone to the oem location so I cannot speak to that spot, but it should work fine. Not aware the dummy light would activate for having the oem sensor plucked. Maybe unplug it and see???

i think you can just use a brass T fitting so you can have the stock one and the aftermarket one working..

Thanks guys - appreciate the advice. Upon further thought I'm going to try going with the allen fitting. Willing to bet the idiot light will give me the stink eye if I pull the oem sensor.
