Was at a ford dealership last night looking to trade in a couple vehicles in the fleet. Anyway i was looking at a gt500 and a gt500kr. They had 125 on the kr and told me i could take it for 90. I told them henry ford would roll over in his grave.

Anyway i think the GT500 is really a underated car from the mustang fans. At least on the forums. Maybe its becuase I hang out in the sections dominated by GT's. But that is a nice car, I could have got it for 42,000. Its got a nicer interior, i really like the gauge cluster and little chrome accents on the stereo area. looking under the hood that 5.4 is pretty. its a blown freaking 5.4 lt. Already has a strut tower brace, K member brace, Bigger brakes, a 6 speed trans and it shifts pretty nice. Looks like the bushing in the a arms are different along with some other suspension parts. I guess what im saying is that for the low 40g range you can pick that car up for, its really a nice car and a good value.

Also im thinking about putting a kr spoiler on my car, i like it better then the gt500, I am assuming it would mount straight up, am I right in that assumption? also what if i couldnt get it in black, cuase i think newtakeoff has a few but only white and alloy? What if i painted my hood scoop alloy and the got the alloy spoiler, would it look dumb or what?

It basically looks the v6 wing. Actually i think they are one in the same exact thing. Like on the pony package. I looked it up online and didnt like the way it looked in a picture but in person I liked it.

The gt500 is freaking nice. That is only the second time i was in one but its really the first time i actually looked at everything on the car. Im gonna try to find a left over next year when the 2010s come out and pounce on a 2009.

I don't think they are under rated, I thinks it's fair that you probably just migrate to the GT areas of the forums. A member here who has been mia for wuite some time - Manowar, has a 700+ horsepower GT500 that is simply sick... There's several serious ones here locally as well. All pretty much migrated to the Kenne 2.8.

For the most part, all that's required for that car is a method of getting traction and your good. The rest is nickel and dime stuff in the grand scheme.

The world is changing for sure - especially with the reality check the dealers are getting with this economy. Tell them to choke on that KR and you might be back for it in 2011 when they are still sitting on the thing.

I guess for me when I got my 2007 the gt500s were so marked up at the time I just never really looked at them, im not paying 60/70 for a ford mustang. But for 42 its a damn nice car. You hear them get bad mouthed so much and all this talk of a 400hp this and that coming out and here is a 500hp gt500. I will own one next year.

On the KR, the funny thing is around here, i garuntee they sell it. People have money around here and they blow it. In april at the apple ford car show a father bought a ford gt and bought his teenage son a gt500kr, sick.

i was talking with a friend that works at a dealership here and he was saying that i could probably get one for high 20's once people start trading them in for the newer model.

too bad i am trying to get rid of my car payments. lol

Those folks are the reason it takes a year for them to drop.. If people would let them choke on the thing for a bit, the price would be more along the line of sticker. Why idiots would pay a fortune to be one of the first to own is beside me. I don't understand throwing away money, I mean buy a KR for 90k, 2 years from now it's worth 50-60k, that's a great investment..

if it's even worth 50-60...no car is a great investment IMO, very very few people buy them outright in cash, so they are more depreciating liabilities. Some people don't mind making car payments their whole lives though. They just have to have the newest thing

theres a few used 500s and a few used 427r around me for id say pretty cheap 29-36 thousand range, ill prob hop on a gt500 next year as in driving one last week that had 35,xxx miles on it and wanted 36, thousand for it not a bad price

What I am going to try to do is wait until next year when the 2010 is out and find a left over 2009 and maybe get a deal on it. I dont want used cars. I wouldnt touch the car mod wise. I drive a lot, long trips, I will on a whim jump in my car and drive 5 hours away becuase im bored. Thats what I would use that car for, bone stock. I already do that in my gt and its not bad, a little loud at times but I have no other complaints about it on the long hauls. But a quiter car with a 6 speed would be nice to drive once and a while.

The plan is not to get rid of my 07 gt, it will still be my hot rod. But by next year im going to be over 100,000 miles on this car and this engine, at some point i have to slow down on it. No matter how much you replace you can never make it new again it seems.


edit....actually i say next year, but its already 2009, i guess i mean this year, come oct or november. Damn I better make some money.

borgata poker room in atlantic city...get there on a saturday night hit up the 1/2 no limit tables with about 300-400 in front of you and wait for the suckers. Everyone is blasted around 10-11 on a saturday night before they go to mur.mur so they donate their money lol
