Well the fucking dyno broke again, would not read the boost soooooo still no car. We had it idle and then ran it part trottle, it sounded like a beast. What really sucks is that I'm having surgery tomorrow morning and won't be able to drive for two weeks after. I'll post numbers and videos when I'm out .

I have #0001

I'm new here, but I have the Edelbrock S/C on my car, I have been driving it for 3-4 days now. I have no dyno proof, but I can tell ya this thing really is a beast. Just goofing off, I hit it in first, smoked the stock tires to 6,000 RPM, then hit second, tires still up in smoke till 5,500 RPM, tires kept spinning well into third. The cool thing is that you really cant hear a whine, and its VERY tame as long as you keep your foot out of it. I took a nice road trip yesterday, got on it a few times to pass, and I still got 22.8 MPG.

Heres the pict's.

That black mark you see on top of the unit is Vic Edelbrock's signature, and the date!!!!

no dyno

the dyno shops around my little podunk town want 500, 700 bucks for a dyno run, after dropping just over 5 grand on this unit, I cant afford a dyno run, sorry. Something some what close is about 4 hours away, with a snow covered mountain with chain controls as of now. but still theres rumor that they might close the Elementary School I work at, so me paying for a dynorun is one of the farthest things in my mind, sorry again. My brother has a 2005 Vette. He ran the #'s and at my elevation, 5,600 feet, he told me that I'm faster, and I kinda proved it.. now at sealevel, that may be a different story, but then again, summer time is just around the corner.

Any other question's, or close up pictures, just let me know.

Tim

there is no way in hell you local shops are charging 500 for a dyno pull...they most likely charge 500 for a dyno TUNE...at most, I bet they charge 100 for a few pulls

I'm sorry, I'm not stuffing 5 plus grand on top of my motor using some canned tune with no verification without strapping that car to the dyno to at least see what's going on. Especially running the car to a tire spinning 6k through the gears.

Hope it lasts for you, that 500 bucks will be tiny in comparison to a motor replacement.

well some vids would help ease some tension, but I agree with emay. But it is your money and times are bad, but I would have done the install myself and then dynoed it. But that is me...

data logging...

I was doing quite a bit of data logging as well, monitoring Fuel Pressure, my LTFB, STFB, AFR, MAF,FRP, and so on, so while yes I roasted the tires, I also had the laptop in the car, with my passinger watching my log's. I have also been in direct contact with edelbrock, and Diablo. So I know that I'm driving my car is safe. Just not good for the tires. As for dyno pull's, lets see if you had the only dyno shop in a 150 mile radius. You can charge anything you want too. Its called supply and demand.

nothing beats a dyno tune, unless you have a wide band, knowledge and a good laptop with software.
