Mac Headers/Kooks H-Pipe

Would mac longtube headers and a kooks h-pipe work together? Because we could save $270 if we buy that.

i am going to say no. I called mac and pretty much the only thing that bolts up to their long tubes with no mods is the prochamber h pipe (not the splice in). I wanted to run an x-pipe with my macs and hit a dead end since none would bolt up without custom work. I ended up pulling the macs and went with pypes shorties and pypes x pipe.....i love the combo sounds very mean!

Oh ok. If I was going to use the kooks midpipe with the mac headers, I'd have to get a shop to make them fit together anyway, so that'd be extra expense that is unneeded, which would make up the difference of not buying the full kooks system(longtubes/midpipe). I think the full kooks is better then going with mac/kooks combo because of the hassle involved.

Why would you want to run a H-Pipe with Mac's when the Prochamber is so awesome?

Ok. Do you agree that the 270 I would save with mac longtubes and a kooks midpipe would actually go towards making the two fit together right?

Well it probably wouldn't cost THAT much to make them fit, but I would just stick with one brand. If you want a Kooks H pipe, buy Kooks headers. If you want mac headers, use a Mac X pipe or Pro-chamber. If I were you I'd get an X pipe regardless since you are so hellbent on getting every last horsepower.

Stangnewb, you can get an X pipe for Mac longtubes now.

Actually come to think of it, I BET (can't garuntee) that you could take the Mac legs (that they sell for their midpipes to use with longtubes) and use them with a cut-up stock H pipe without much effort, if you really want an H pipe. If you really want to determine if this would work, I'd be willing to take measurements of my Mac stuff for you if you measure what I tell you to measure on a stock H pipe.

True, but so do H pipes. The remedy for that situation would be different axlebacks.

I beg to differ. I would've got different mufflers if we didn't like them.

You don't have a aftermarket mid-pipe yet so how would you know?

In my opinion the blowmasters sound ok with the stock midpipe, but once you make it louder with high flow or no cats, they sound like total ass. But to each his own, right?

Yes, definitely. I'm positive I'll like the longtubes with them though, I've heard a guys car with my aspiring combo and he liked it.
