Knock after cam install...One problem solved and one to go...PLEASE HELP again

OK pulled the plug again and find a small knick right by the electode.Changed the plug, miss gone. Thanks for your guys help.....Now help me find the rattle I have.....
Its like on the older cars when the lifters/rockers peck.It does it louder when the car sits for awhile and right when you start it up,then it goes away. Then When you give it gas it doesnt make the sound, but when you let of and it is coming down, it does it right between 2000 and 2700 rpm.So whatcha guys thinking it could be?

It sounds like its coming from the center of the cover at the bottom towards the header.

the noise of a cam phaser can travel throughout the engine. A normal sign of a bad phaser is if it is making the noise at idle, then when given a little throttle the noise fades away. You might have a bad follower or lifter (forgot the right word for it). Might even be an improper installed follower (not saying you screwed something up)

All scribe marks were lined up when it went back together and everything was torqued down. So could it have jumped AFTER the cover went back on?

Isnt there a tsb on those anyways? Could putting the new cams caused them to go bad?

i also would have to go with the
phaser, as the most likely cause.

the only other remote posibility i can
come up with is, if by any chance you
didn't put every cam follower back in it's
original position, i wonder if the wear
pattern is enough to cause a ticking until
oil saturates the area

be sure to let us know what it turns out
to be.

Take the oil fill tube off the passenger side cam cover shine a light in there so you can see the cam phaser in action while it's running. The drivers side you'll just have to take the cam cover off when it's off and tug/twist/pull on the cam phaser to make sure it's tight. Look for loose cam followers and check the cam caps to make sure they're tight. My cam phaser was bad but it didn't make any noise.

No noise from rivers side.Everything was tight nothing loose.
Pass side nothing loose, and everything I could see thru the oil filler cap was turning straight, no wobbles. So took that side off also and no wiggles and nothing loose.

Probably off to the ford dealer where the tech works. He said bring it up and he would look at ot up there.

What is the drivetrain warranty on these? I know with my 06gt500 it is 3/36 is it the same on the 06 gt's?

I'd say either the phaser or a lash adjuster that doesn't want to stay pumped.

Got me stumped. I'm still trying to figure out how you cracked a spark plug. I thought I had bad luck, you got me beat.
