Whipple 2.9!!!!

I was speaking with a rep at Whipple about the 2.9 liter kit. Its still coming! They just finished the GT500 kit and in 30-90 days will have working 3v 4.6 kits! I'm excited because this is the biggest Whipple to fit under a stock hood. Can't wait to see the results!

Why excited about a 2.9l when a better 3.0l already fits under our stock hood..

I think the 2.9L is going to replace the 2.3L

I read on svt somewhere that the smaller blowers are supposed to be easier on the motor and less strain on the blower itself. They are supposed to get ya just as much power with less strain over all....

What I'm saying is they are supposed to be "easier" from some new parts or styling work they were doing on the inside of them......Maybe more econimical was the right word.

smaller blower is more efficient on a stock engine. period. But your not talking about a monsterous difference here.

Rich is in with whipple so he can probably and if you add 10 psi to any motor there will be results.

The reasons I like the Whipple more than the Techo unit are;

1. Looks, the Whipple doesn't take up the entire top of the engine bay. Easier to get to plugs, injectors and other misc. stuff.

2. Whipple's technology is more proven on the track and street than the Techo unit.

3. Whipple's kit's come with GT500 pumps, a Thumprrr Tensioner and a seperate belt system, so if the belt goes its just the supercharger belt. You can still get to the side of the road or pit's without over heating or hoping the battery will last.

4. You can get better pulley system's for the whipple. (8 and 10 rib kits are everywhere and you can get a Cogged kit if you want to spend the $$$)

5. Whipple rotor technology is still the best in my opinion.

Since when do the Thump_rrr tensioners come with the whipple kit. I thought the whipple was a 1 belt system

maybe he's talkin bout the 2.9 kit in particular. but if it does come w/ the thumprrr and separate belt system, then the whipple kit is pretty badass!
