Question

Cruise control no longer working!

So I'm headed to work today, get up to 50 on the 4 mile stretch before the highway. I always put cruise on for this stretch. Well, today I press "on" or whatever the button is, and the green light doesn't come on. I press the "set" button and it doesn't engage.

I get to a stop light, and turn the car off and then back on. Try again. Nada. Still isn't working, and no light in the dash confirming its turned on like usual.

Cruise control just worked last week. Never had an issue with it before. No other current issues with the car that I could tell.

Any ideas?

And no, it's not under warranty.

No, as I noticed it on the way in to work. I can try that this weekend, if required.

Yeah, I really have no idea... I don't have my manual or anything with me. It might just be a fuse. Who knows?

More input is appreciated, though

I know exactly what it is. It's your cams. I'd be happy to test them for you. Just send them to me and I'll see if my cruise still works with them in.....

Seriously, it may just be a fuse. I forgot my stang had cruise. I very rarely drive where cruise is convenient.

Your ECU is in "limp home" mode for whatever reason, preventing you from setting the cruise. Is the "wrench light" on in the gauge cluster? Mine usually does that when I'm in limp. No homo.

No wrench light/CEL/etc. Nothing else seems to be affected.

Should I try reloading my tune?

OK guys. I went through every damn fuse on the car and can't see any that are blown.

I also checked my Hayes manual and it basically said if my cruise doesn't work, take it in...

Any other ideas? I really don't want to take it into the stealership

Well, at least you traded a blower for the resume button. I didn't trade anything for the on button to stop working. I never use resume anyways...

yeah I have the same problem. I was driveing down the interstate and had earlier put my car on cruise control. Then as I was going up a hill the car made a load pop noise and then seemed like it had no power. The wrench light came on so I pulled over and checked somethings and it seem ok. So I unpluged the battery for a few and then restarted it and the wrench was gone. I haven't tried to put it on cruise since that day. So I don't know what happened.

I for sure don't have the wrench light on.

I hope your car is ok, Louie!
