Exhaust gasket?

Maybe a stupid question but I am at my wits end trying to get this pypes offroad pipe to seal against the stock manifold. Are there any gaskets that I can buy for that connection?

Thanks

Adam

There are no gaskets for the ball flange. I know that at some point Ford chagned the size of the ball, and for the updated style Pypes includes adapters with their midpipes, but I think that that switch was in 07 or 08 so you shouldn't need to use them. When you put the pipe on, try and arrange the legs (with all clamps loose) to where they will meet the manifold flange as evenly as possible, and tighten the manifold bolts a little at a time to draw them up evenly. Use an impact wrench to get them good and tight. Other than that they should seal fine.

I'm w/ urban on this one. when i had my pypes o/r X, it came with some adapters but i have an 06 so i didn't need them. but like he said, don't tighten one section or one side all the way...get everything loose and then slowly tighten everything until it's goodentight

with pypes, i had to use the spacers that came on the pipe so itll bolt up to the manifold. i believe those spacers are only for 07 and 08 models. i have an 08gt. urban and beef are correct.

I've had the same problem. It's not only the Pypes stuff that happens to, my buddy and I had problems with his SLP stuff too, as well as my Pypes downlegs... When the nuts on the ball flange are tightened too much it will make the mating plate attached to the downleg bend toward the stud shoulder. If they are bent too much and make contact with the stud shoulder you won't be able to get it to seal unless you remove the down leg and bend the flange back away from it. I put the hole of the flange in a vise and bend it back using the downleg as a lever because the O2 bungs won't let you remove them from the pipe. Hopefully this will help you bro.

My pype Offroad H wouldnt properly seal to the driver side manifold. Is this the reason? My buddy just said it was a stripped bolt..

If the nut keeps turning and never gets tight then it's a stripped nut or stud. If it just won't seal up then it's something else.

I can hear a tick on the passenger side and lately its getting worse. If its a stripped nut what do you reccomend to fix it? I really wanna get it fixed soon. Especially with the modding i am doing as of late.

If it's a stripped nut, then just get a new nut. Chances are the stud is stripped. A muffler shop should be able to replace the stud for you without having to remove the manifold from the engine. Removing the stud would be a major pain to do on jackstands... If you remove the nut and look at the threads you should be able to tell if it's the stud, or the nut that is stripped.

I think i should just have a muffler shop look at it to tell me what is wrong and have them fix it. I wonder how much it will run me and if there is a local shop close to me. Should i avoid Mavis or Meineke or w.e that muffler chain is?
