man the maf is a very sensative 5v system... I hope you used the same exact size wire and soldered it very well.. any spike in voltage or lack of PCM refernced voltage will send the PCM into "limp mode" which is what sounds like your activing. basically the ecm cuts back timing to nothing, enables a very low rev limit and dumps extra fuel.. if you have drivin the car like this, chances are the plugs are already fouled. I think the critisim people have given you about the WMS system are very constructive and accurate.. the system is simple to invasive for a bolt on car... I mean really.. moving the coolant resivour and splicing the maf? no thank you...

are you sure the maf is oriented in the correct way (as in correct way for air flow? arrow pointing to the motor?)

ANY variation in maf housing on these new s197 MUST HAVE A TUNE!!!!!!! NO QUESTIONS! the maf caliberation stock IS NOT forgiving.

good luck, and retrace your steps, get a damn tune.

This sure is a 'happy' place to hang out at.....lol.

This biggest complaint about the WMS is the installation, otherwise it seems like a good product.

Perhaps it shouldn't be sold as a bolt on system.

I have no more issues found a broke wire lights went bye bye. For some guys that tear into a car y'all freaking about cutting 6 wires. But my question is how can I tell if the car has a tune other than stock put in by the previous owner.

hmmm.. ford could tell you I believe once they hook up to the diagnostic's computer.. at least it will tell you if its flashed.. I would get it RETUNED though because who knows where your afr is now. those cast aluminum pistons are not forgiving..

I think your misunderstanding my point man. wire's have different resistence... which can affect a signal as low as 5v's pretty easily.

I'm not bashing the system by any means.. I love way the WMS systems look!!!

THE problem is in ur splice job,i ran cai from modular mustang racing , tthat ended up needing a tune ,when they assured me it did not, anyway, mine ran lean , and the cel came on ,code said bank one ,bank two running lean , but i never had a problem with a wrench light or not being able to go over 3500 rpms , so this more then just a lean code. so did u get the codes read???
