I want to start tracking Barricade

So I never really tracked this car for several reasons:

-It has fatass 20" wheels
-It is slammed with Eibach sportlines
-It never had power until last week

Now that she does have power, I want to see what she can do. I am saving for the 15" Jeg wheel setup (front and rear) with some stickies out the back. My question to yall has to do with my spring setup...My car is slammed with these springs so I have no squat or weight transfer on the launch. Can I still pull decent times with these springs? Or do I have to put the Saleen ones (equivalent to the prokit springs) back on to get anything decent?

I don't want this car to become a track car solely but I would like to start taking it to the strip at least once a month. Thanks

You are never going to get GREAT weight transfer with a lowered car, but if you want to compromise a little here is a suggestion. Adjustable shocks & struts. you can change the settings to stiff in the back and soft in the front and this will allow for a BETTER weight transfer. Also removing the front swaybar when you go to the track will also help. You can not have the best of both worlds.

The BMR springs seem to have good weight transfer and also lower the car.

So I would have to sell my Saleen racecraft shocks and struts to get the adjustables....

I understand you cannot have the best of both worlds. damn, there is always a compromise huh? The car looks so aggressive slammed but it is not practical in the least for the strip. I don't know if I could sacrafice the looks permanently for a trip to the strip once a month...

I also dont want to break anything trying to launch with sticky tires as it sits now

I already have a bunch of BMR suspension goodies:

-lca's
-adj uca
-relocation brackets
-panhard bar
-rear sway

I need to get my pinion angle dialed in

That's why I went with the pro-kit. It was a compromise between looks and track performance. I don't think you will break anything with your suspension upgrades. You might want to weld your relocation brackets if they are just bolted in.

do u have a one piece driveshaft? I dont think the sportlines will KILL your times, just not maximize the potential. ^ like ponie said you can still cut very decent 60fts on the sportlines, and if your going w/ 15s and skinnies it should be even better.

They are bolted and welded...well, maybe I will try with the setup I have now...never know what times it will run...could be very good, could be bad

Be ready to put a clutch in it. We are at about the same hp. I just did my first full power launch on the drag radials through 3rd gear a little while ago and the stock clutch did not like it. I hate the smell of burnt clutch!!

I agree with pappy. You will do fine at the track, you may not be at your full potential but you should run ok. Remember, more HP and Torque will overcome many issues.

He took me for a short ride in his insane car and all I can say is OMG. Thing is crazy. He had the traction control on and it was still going all over the place. Car sits you back into the seats. He was holding onto the steering wheel with both hands to keep it on the street. Best ride so far
