Change from 26.6 in Tire to 28.8 in Tire

I'm currently running a 275/40/18 and am in need of some new tires. I was looking at the nitto 305/45/18 and was wondering how much of a difference I would notice. The car is mainly street driven with a few runs down the track every year. I don't know if this is too much tire for my mods (in sig). Rims are 18x10

Thanks

Adam

unless you're doing the track/street fun often, there isn't much point in spending the coin to get those larger tires. Granted, they're fun as heck and I think they look great, but I know you can get nitto's in a size closer to stock size.

If you don't have to have drag radials I suggest Falken Azenis RT615 in a 295/40R18. They are just a shade over 27'' and look real nice.

The Larger size is actually cheaper than the smaller sizes. I'm really just wondering if a 28.8 tire is gonna slow me down or is the 4.10 gears enough to compensate for the tire?

That is a lot of tire for a car with without more mods. It will also change your gearing back toward stock.

I just got 305/45/18 on my car and they will change your gear ratio. I just purchased a set of gears too. The way I figured it was with the 4.10's that I am going to put on, it is like running the stock tire size with a 3.84 gear ratio. I am going to go with a twin screw down the road so I figured with this tire size the 4.10's would be perfect.
