I'm thinking about buying a new mustang and was wondering what you guys were paying for them. not monthy, but total price. I was just wondering how much under msrp i can expect to pay. I want to know if it is possible to buy the lowest GT with a 72 month loan and get a car payment for $500 or lower a month.

Around $501.00 a month for 60 months

Nobody has asked you what your going to put down, that will swing things significantly if your coming in with a good amount down.

I got my 07 GT premium package 5 spd for 26,500 with my supplier discount back in October. I brought in 6500 down and only financed 20K. The kicker is I got 0% (Ford wasn't offering it) through my credit union which made everything a no brainer deal. Payment is $418.00 for 48 months.

72 months on a car note is a bit much, your getting raped in interest when you extend out that long (unless you get 0%). It's not worth it in the end if interest is involved.

Try to sell you '96 yourself first, a dealer will beat you to death on trade in value. I think Ford is offering $1000.00 retail customer cash back right now and generally they will come off msrp about another $1500.00, so figure around $2500.00 below list.

Really though, sell your '96 yourself!!!

Ford also has a loyalty program, they will give you 500 if you own a ford. All of them don't wanna tell you that....so ask.

the interest you pay pretty much will be dependent on your credit. i'm getting raped by interest cuz of my credit. who cares though i'll just pay off the car next year as long as i go back to the sandbox.

Dude deffinatly check out costco to buy it through. They take away almost all mark up and then u dont even have to pay destination and dealer prep. Maybe you still have to pay that but it is deffinatly a lot cheaper to go through them, u can still even trade in your car and use that for the downpayment.

Like Maverick, I paid about $27.5K for a fully loaded 05 GT Auto. I'm not quite sure about the true market value of the 07 Mustangs. I think they're still hot... not much discount... You could try the dealership fleet manager. They sometimes give better deals than salespeople.

I already posted this in another thread, but i'll put it here too. Just got my new stang. It's an '07 silver gt premium with the gt apperance packege and the 3.55 gears. I got financed and didn't even have to trade in the 96. I paid 26,500 for it. I think the sticker price was 29,000, so i think i got a good deal. my payments were almost what i wanted. Since i didn't trade in my car i put 1,500 down and i'm paying 550 a month for 60 months.

Cool. That does sound like a good deal. Congrats!
Post a pic if you have a minute. I like Ford's appearance package too. Engine cover, hood scoop, sweet...

Just for f.y.i. if you wand full blue book on a trade the dealer will try to make you pay sticker. If you want a deal on the car, they will rape you on a trade. I work at a dealership selling cars and I now know why they rape people on trades. Most of the time the trade in needs a lot of things in order for the dealership to sell the car. Safety and smog related stuff. Also, if you want the best deal go into the dealership at the end of the month when us 'salesmen' need another unit or the store needs those last few. You'll get a much better deal. this also works if it has been slow all weekend and they haven't sold anything.....

Besides you can alsways say you have a costco discount or AAA and most of the time they wont ask for proof. The discount is usually 500-1000 over invoice. I'm only telling you this because us salesmen don't make much on new cars anyways...so I might as well help out all my fellow stangers looking to get a deal.

I have 3.55 gears on my stang stock. Would there be any differance going to 3.73's? I have plans on FI in the future so i don't want to go 4.10's.

Personally I would spend that money on a good cold air intake and tuner combo before I go dropping money on gears.I think you get a bigger kick in the pants doing that first, followed maybe by headers, a good exhaust, and maybe a larger BBK throttle body.
