running lean.


ok i installed a intake headers and gears and now im running leans on both banks. and there isnt exactly a tune for my intake im running a firm shift 93 octane tune. any ideas on what i could do to not have it lean

With the SCT XCal, if that's the tuner you have, you can richen the fuel curve a few percent. Try it out.

so you're running a CAI and headers WITHOUT a tune? that's your problem right there. not enough fuel going into your engine. INVEST in an xcal and get yourself a mail order tune for now with your mods. you'll definitely need it down the line for other big mods you do.

Hmm, he said he's running a firm shift 93 octane tune, I assumed he had a tuner.

i do have a tuner its a diablo predator and i called them up and they were telling me to put up maf curve and i kept calling them and they said to up 2 percent every time and i am up to 12 percent and yes still lean. now wat about the WOT fuel? should i mess with that or what.

how much do those things cost lol. and i might hassel this dealership i got my parts from they said they would have a tune for me and they dont.... so im going to hassel them about it and see what happens

Get a real reputable tuner to get you a tune, it'll be like $60 for a single tune file. I doubt the headers are attributing to the lean condition at all. I'd bet that it's completely from the cai which means their tune is probably just some canned tune that is meant for a stock car. I don't use Diablo so I don't really know many custom tuners for them but someone can chim in ..

alright i think for now im just going to put the stock intake back on it just so i can maybe solve the lean situation and then i can get a tune setup and stuff.
