Fuel Pump Problem!!! Please Help!!

Hey guys watsup! I just finished installing my NOVI 2200 but after upgrading the fuel pump I could't close the metal ring to close it shut. I've tried everything. How do you close the damn thing? And to top it off Paxton sent me the wrong MAFia. This really sucks I was looking forward to try it today!

Is the fuel pump assembly sitting down in the hole properly? Are you just having problems getting the ring to turn and lock? If so, try a little light oil on the ring and o-ring so it will turn easier. You also need to tap it on one side and then the other so it stays straight.

Yes it is sitting properly. I know it has to spring up and down freely, I'm I correct? Thanks for the oil tip though.

There's really no trick to it, Timbo gave you about all of the advise you need. It does take a little massaging to get it to turn closed evenly. Alternating sides like timbo said tapping on the tabs to close is all you can do.

if you have a third hand there...get him to push down on the pump, it will compress the rubber gasket a little more and get the ring started a little eaiser for you. I was by myself so i had to do th back and forth trick as well.

I haven't looked at the fuel pump retainer on these cars, is it a metal ring with multiple tabs that lock into ridges in the tank? If so, like others said you have to just get it centered and alternately tap on it untill every tab is started. BUT if it is the design I am mentioning, only tap on it with a BRASS or PLASTIC hammer and drift. Sparks on fuel tank = boom boom.

yeah I reckon that'd work too. Don't see aluminum drifts too often. Just don't use steel.

I had to use a hammer and a brass drift to button mine up.

hey guys I was able to install the ring and it is funny cause I did it with a big screw driver and worked. I guess I'm in this world for a reason lol but it worked and I'm still alive. Anyway, I just realised that I prtobably made the wrong connection! tell me if I'm wrong: black with black then red and red; or, black and black then red and red with black stripe. I did the first one! Did I do it correctly?

It sucks cause I noticed the picture in the book shows the red connected to the red with black strip. But if I have to do it again, oh well shit happens. But I wonder if I can place another connection clip on the other wire then leave the first red one with the connection clip on and hanging. Is it safe?
