Crap, I just read about that this morning, someone said don't use the paper gasket that comes with the diff cover, as it's prone to leaking. But seal it up with something else, wish I could remember where I read that... darn internet....

EDIT: it was Taco Bill at TMS:
My installer said not to use the included paper gasket because it will eventually leak.
So he used the same type of grey sealant like the factory uses and went straight metal to metal.
For the drain/fill plugs he used a liquid teflon thread sealant.

Of course, your installer may do something different, but just letting you know that mine has been leak-free so far.

The guy that installed my gears said the same exact thing. No paper gasket. I saw gray sealant all around the cover.

I've never used a gasket for that, always just use silicon sealant.

Where can I find this LPW cover you speak of?

Just do a Google search. There's several vendors that sell it, including LPW itself. When I did this recently, it was a pleasant surprise to see the LPW rear differential cover so competitively priced, compared to other units by other manufacturers. IMO, this mod, especially for the price, is a winner.

Good to know. I plan on running either the frpp one or a Watts link, so we'll see.

Got mine yesterday. I've had my gears for a while but was waiting for the cover to do the install.

Should be done by next weekend, I'm sooooo excited (wow, that should be the name of a song or something).
